Recommended DLC for newcomer?

Post by RedwoodForest »

I am finally going to bite the bullet and grab CMO while it's on sale over here on Matrix. I see that there is quite a bit of DLC for the game. Are there any in particular that come recommended, or should I just start with the basic package for a while? After falling in love with Harpoon Classic '97, well... figured it was about time to give CMO a go.

I recommend you the guides by HLE on steam, he answers your question and there is a lot of extra useful information for beginners.

There's alot in the base game and I have enjoyed all the DLC but my favorite is probably Kashmir Fire with the cool mix of East/West equipment used by both sides.

The Community Scenario Oack is also chock full of great content by some extremely talented community members.

Kashmir fire is one of the best for diverse types of units. If you are fairly new, shifting sands is better choice.

I would start with the base game and play a variety of scenarios. Use those to figure out what types or intensities of play you like most, and you can select additional DLCs based on your preferences.
