Grand Scenario Think Tank

I am considering creating a scenario, mostly because I'd like to see how the AI handles the ideas. I open this up for discussion on said ideas as to either encourage or dissuade me. Additionally, feel free to add your own suggestions for consideration and or discussion.


Planned adjustments to Unit structures

1) All units would be created as independent (no shells)
2) Regiment/Brigade HQs would be changed to function similarly to Div/Corp/Army HQs
3) All independent units will utilize the "attach to" function found in the unit screen to be assigned to a HQ of the players choosing.
4) Units would no longer serve as a "shell" to house subordinate units. (so no rebuilding units)
5) Transport and organic engineer devices will be incorporated into their respective HQ units, this would reduce unit count while making HQ units more robust in defense. Independent units would still exist as they are.


Potential problems
a) AI won't or can't utilize the "attach to" function
b) how will the AI organize its units, can it?

Potential solutions
a) create separate scenarios (human nationalist vs AI, or human republican vs AI) where AI OOB would be more rigid.


Planned map changes
1) Explore reducing the number of base locations by up to 1/4. (adjusting resources accordingly)
2) Explore using factories in a limited trial basis for select equipment.
3) Explore creating more static units at various bases to assist AI.
4) Explore reducing daily movement points from 60 to 40. (logistics speed would not change)
5) Explore making airlift from North Africa to Spain a more viable option in the early months.

Idea for OOB expansion for discussion
This would expand the OOB by creating company units for battalions. Battalions would be used as the shell for these subunits. (similar to how regiments are used as a shell for battalions now)


That's all for now. These are just some things I've been thinking about.

I recommend you play the game more. And especially study the editor.

While playing, you will find that the AI ​​system does not use containers at all.
And in the editor, you will find that the smallest container is a regiment.
Etc...
