Gibraltar Repair Shipyard

War in Spain 1936-39 is the first in a new wargame series, using a new Land-Sea-Air engine inspired by War in the Pacific - Admiral’s Edition. Gameplay and realism are improved by TRUE AI and a detailed Logistics systems. A hyper detailed OOB reaches down to battalion and company level. A beautiful, hand drawn, 5 nautical mile per hex map massively increases player immersion.

Gibraltar Repair Shipyard

Post by Q-Ball »

The Repair Shipyard in Gibraltar is usable by the Nationalists. Is that WAD, or an error?

Obviously warships would not be repairing there. I suppose it's possible merchant ships could.

I haven't checked if ships can refuel there, but I bet they can

In Gibraltar, despite the neutrality, nationalist officers were allowed to use secure communications and resources, including coal. The local british authorities interacted with Franco, because the area quickly consolidated under nationalist control, which limited republican influence in the vicinity of the colony. So... It's good to be friends with those around you ;)

Well, so much for "Non-Intervention"!

In game terms, it's the biggest shipyard on the Iberian Peninsula (or "In Spain" if you prefer as a Spaniard), so seems important in game terms

It also makes sense to base Nationalist Warships there, so they can draw on British Fuel and British Supplies for Ammo, saving the rest for the Spanish Army

Except that the British defenses won't help to protect the ships!
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are missing! :o
