Naval scouting in SP?

Post by B1GB0M »

How do you go about scouting naval targets, particularly as an Axis that has invested heavily into Navy for a Sea Lion? Is this a good use case for maritime bombers or is this something DDs should be tasked with?

This would be for SP, so please don't tell me if the AI just keeps its ships in certain tiles. I'd rather not know if that's the case [;)]

Maritime bombers are ideal. Also, fighters (etc.) can scout. A sub is more durable than a DD, so consider either.

Mix and match.

If using subs to scout, less risky if running silent. Planes are best for scouting naval, if you have range, but if there could be a risk of enemy fighters/CVs, ensure you have your own fighters within escort range.

Yes. (Unless one cannot afford the decrease in range.)
