Checksum error while playing PBEM

War in Spain 1936-39 is the first in a new wargame series, using a new Land-Sea-Air engine inspired by War in the Pacific - Admiral’s Edition. Gameplay and realism are improved by TRUE AI and a detailed Logistics systems. A hyper detailed OOB reaches down to battalion and company level. A beautiful, hand drawn, 5 nautical mile per hex map massively increases player immersion.

I will get our hard-working Dev to help you with this. I know he has manually fixed PBEM saves recently, so attach the save files here, please.

He'll get to it when he wakes up. I'll tell him internally about this thread.

Yes, please attach all saves of the running PBEM.
You and your opponent, please.
Or send to me by DM.
I can fix the saves, but I did not yet find out why that does happen. I hope that more saves on this do help me.

Have the "same" error. First turn report for the nationalist works fine but after the first after combat report for the republican is finished you get the missmatch error. Starting the game as Republican has the same issue. Fix applied, no change, using the same computer as if were 2 different players, same result. This was checked for the 2 Balearic scenarios. When I made the same with the Grand campaign scenario, it worked as itended, I could process various turns without any issue on neither side. So i tried again the balearic scenarios, but still the same issue. Did not try the other smaller scenarios. I hope this info can help out. PD: I am not sure if the missmatch numbers coincide TBH

That is valuable information, thanks.
I think you can fix the checksum issue by the keycode system explained in section 3.4
Make sure you use the same save, for example just after the Republican turn.
Save, and retrieve keycode in Preferences.
Give keycode to Nationalist.
Nationalist does enter keycode and "update SCN data"
Save and send updated save to Republican.
Store this save in "Save" folder. -> technically a new 1st turn save because all SCN data gets updated.

Originally built to allow data changes in mid PBEM
But it might also work for the checksum issue since it does update all checksums according to SCN data on disk.

Many Thanks. I will give it a try just to check (no worries on that particular game :). Looks a bit like my small "workaround", which was basically not processing the turn, just give new orders on the turn the nationalist sent. He could see reports and so on, and for me was like new day everyday, I mean, no reports, no battles, but the results (damage, ships sunks,...) was all there reflected on map and lists. Anyway keep up the good work :).
