Concert in Europe Mod Mode freeze.

Post by Jack59 »

My DLC; Concert of Europe is not working properly. I think the game plays, but the Mods Menu freezes. Nothing checks or unchecks. I have to control -alt-delete to get out. This happens through either the opening settings or game settings menu. I was just trying to turn off some counter mods that don't work well in the Europe Mod. The Americas Mod worked fine before. Haven't tried to reload SC or its Mods yet. Would I have to do the hole thing or just the mod?

This might be a permissions error on your operating system preventing the mods folder from functioning properly.

Try white listing the game with your Anti Virus software to see if this helps.

After looking over my computer I noticed all of my Strategic Command games have the same problem with the mod menu. The thing that has changed is that my subscription to Kaspersky has finally run out and can no longer renew it in the USA. I am now running the Windows 11 builtin virus package. I am having trouble figuring how the fix the problem on this laptop. To make things worse I have had a stroke and my brain is not working as it should. Funny thing, the programs works on my desktop. A clue that my mind is not processing right now. Hope this make sense and thank god for spell checkers.

I figured it out! I guess my brain is starting to work, throw typing and spelling is lagging. After realizing the differences between my computers is the graphics card. I right clicked on my mouse went to Display Settings\Graphics. Then choose "add desktop app"; choose any SC game EXE file. Then it appears all SC games work! :D If not do for each game.

It is doing it again... American Civil War freezes going to the mod menu. It worked two times. The other SC programs seem to work. Suggestions?

To do this with Windows Defender, these are the steps I found online, hopefully they help:

Steps to Whitelist a Game (Exclusion):

Open the Start menu, type "Windows Security," and open the app.
Select Virus & threat protection.
Click Manage settings under the Virus & threat protection settings.
Scroll down to "Exclusions" and click Add or remove exclusions.
Click + Add an exclusion and select Folder.
Navigate to and select the game's installation folder, e.g. \Program Files\Matrix Games\Strategic Command - American Civil War

You can add the user folder for the game as well, which is typically the following, e.g. replace <username> with your username on your PC:

\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command - American Civil War
