Loading of multiple LCUs on ships

War in Spain 1936-39 is the first in a new wargame series, using a new Land-Sea-Air engine inspired by War in the Pacific - Admiral’s Edition. Gameplay and realism are improved by TRUE AI and a detailed Logistics systems. A hyper detailed OOB reaches down to battalion and company level. A beautiful, hand drawn, 5 nautical mile per hex map massively increases player immersion.

Loading of multiple LCUs on ships

Post by adarbrauner »

I've just loaded the happy expedition party from Barcellona to take MAllorca on the whim ( :D ), but I notice that EACH ship of the amphibious TF has embarked a fraction of EVERY land unit, (I would upload the screenshot if I remember how to do it in this forum) and if I recall well, this did not happen in WITPAE, where each ship tried to load the whole unit first.

This is a major detail for naval operations of the kind.

I wander if this is intentional?!

This game is not WITP:AE. I personally have no issue with this, if one ship is lost then the entire unit or most of that unit is not lost. Plus it can use more of the troop/passenger space on the ships.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are missing! :o

You can alter this... Manual help out in this case. Here (p.123):

"“Execute load” loads troops on ships. Any ship can load as many units as will fit. Left clicking the button will evenly distribute the units to all ships. This speeds up unloading as every ship can unload its share. “Right click” will load the units on the ships until they are full. Some ships may remain empty if the units did fit on the previous ships."
