WW1G works on some Win 11 PCs

This revised and updated turn-based grand strategy game from the team at AGEOD brings players back to World War I, including both the Eastern and Western fronts and over 4 campaigns and 10 scenarios. As either a member of the Central Powers, the Entente or a neutral nation, players will confront the epic gauntlet of military and political challenges that faced the likes of Kitchener, Joffre, Luddendorf, Clemenceau, Czar Nicholas II or Enver Pasha.

WW1G works on some Win 11 PCs

Post by altipueri »

This much neglected game may work on your Win 11 pc if you have the game working on an older Win 10 pc.

The trick is to copy the entire folder and contents of the old installation to the new Win 11 pc.
It may work, and you may have to enter the serial number, and you may have to try downloading some direct X stuff from the web.

I say may because it has worked on 3 of my PCs but not on others.

I did not discover this fix - it came from a post on the Ageod site: http://ageod-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=237&t=54333

Incidentally, there is a very good AAR running currently (Feb 26) which shows how good this game can be. The first AAR for about 15 years. !

PS It may work if you have the game working on older Windows versions 7,8, etc. I haven't tried and I am not a technical person. Report back if you have success, or failure.
