Mountain/Montana Units

War in Spain 1936-39 is the first in a new wargame series, using a new Land-Sea-Air engine inspired by War in the Pacific - Admiral’s Edition. Gameplay and realism are improved by TRUE AI and a detailed Logistics systems. A hyper detailed OOB reaches down to battalion and company level. A beautiful, hand drawn, 5 nautical mile per hex map massively increases player immersion.

Mountain/Montana Units

Post by Schmauser »

The Nationalists have a fair few Mountain/Montana Units. Some are the Batallon de Montana units and others are the Batallon de Cazadores from Morocco. Understand the general mountain penalties/bonuses in the manual. However, could not find anything specific to these units.

Are there any undocumented bonuses for the Mountain/Montana Units?

Asking because I'm looking to seal off the passes North of Madrid and figure these units should be ideal.

If you look at the TO&E of those units, they do not have wheeled vehicles so they have faster movement through the rough terrain and mountains.

Would you mind deleting the huge and overly flashy and corny Twitter screenshot from your signature? It has no business being on a wargaming forum.

Thanks. So pretty much any unit can modify their devices to emulate a mountain unit. Possibilities for PvP, but methinks the AI isn't going to do that.

Why don't you not look if it bothers you?

No. They have no meaning or special bonus.
(I'm a little sorry, but that's how the code is written)

Unfortunately, it's hard to overlook a signature that's bigger than some threads here on this forum.

Only stating in case you're not aware, but you can disable showing signatures in settings.

Otherwise if you want to see signatures, simply ignore this.

Oh my, thank you for that tip! Much cleaner without the signatures :)
