[WAD] B1817 Slow cleaning of the message log

Videos comparing the loading, in B1817 and B1776, of a scenario that is clean after another one with the message log populated.

It is instant in B1776 while in B1817, the clearing is slow.


To reproduce load the save posted in this thread, then load the original Helping hand scenario, with the message log displayed.

This is WAD; we had to make a few changes in the way the message log UI elements are populated & cleared, in order to reduce the performance penalty of very rapid-fire messages on the overall UI.

Win some, lose some.
