LCU packing

War in Spain 1936-39 is the first in a new wargame series, using a new Land-Sea-Air engine inspired by War in the Pacific - Admiral’s Edition. Gameplay and realism are improved by TRUE AI and a detailed Logistics systems. A hyper detailed OOB reaches down to battalion and company level. A beautiful, hand drawn, 5 nautical mile per hex map massively increases player immersion.

LCU packing

Post by Dreamslayer »

Seems like that all LCU's have the same packing time - 3 days. The size of LCU doesn't matter. I think that small units (like light infantry companies) should to do it much faster than larger units which have various heavy devices. 100 men unit is packing 3 days? Come on. Exp, fatigue etc should to affect the packing time too.
Other strange case. You can to pack the LCU even if there is no any railroad or port.

I agree with you there, but there are probably "some" ( or "many") engine limitations to go that level of detail , and i am just guessing here.

No need to pack them to move by ship afaik. And you wont be able to move with standard foot movement if packed. So if you pack a unit in a hex without RR it wont be able to move for another 3 days while unpacking. I learnt this in Torrevieja base where i fount there is no RR although it looks like there is one if you watch the map.

Torrevieja base its a map bug, the hex has RR but not RR connection to other hex. I'm about that you can to pack the LCU in any hex without RR or port. If the hex has no RR or port then this option (packing) should not be available.

Okay, how long does it take to schedule a train? How many passenger cars, box cars, tanker cars, and open goods wagons are needed? Where are those cars currently and are they empty? How about the locomotive? Just how many trains are actually needed? How extensive are the loading facilities? What about other demands on the equipment and the traffic on the railroads? Do you want to play a version of railroad tycoon?

This is not WITP:AE. In the civilization games that I have played, there is no packing time.
