Mapping Script

Post by markwall06 »

I posted earlier onto another post but I don't think many saw it and I've been working on it a bit more, and it's probably time to give it ats own space.

I have created a script, with AI help, that will show the complete Command Structure of your army, from the full army, down to individual Corps, overlaid on a large scale Planning Map (kindly provided by another member of the forum)

It comprises a "Launcher", where the player picks a side, then a script to choose the units upon which you are interested. It gets its information from the CSV files produced by the Commanders Report export.

I would appreciate it greatly if you could take a look at it and advise me if you come across any problems with it.

These are screenshots from the User Interface, and an indication of what it will produce

I don't know why it wouldn't let me upload them on the original post, but these are the instructions for use

The green area is some type of AoE/ZOC visalization along each "line" and around each unit I suppose?

How did you "define" the Hexes? Recently worked at some Mapmodding and found the Hexes are actually all Squares 50x50pixels, maybe that info helps if not already known.

It took a while and a lot of trial and error. The game hexes are actually taller than they are wide and flat sided/pointy topped. With the help of AI was able to figure out roughly where each hex is in terms of the pixel size of the underlying map. It’s not 100% but close enough. Yes, the cloud shows the area covered by all the units in the Corps. The size of the cloud can be altered by using the relevant slider
