Ground unit fails to deploy on Choking Halifax

Post by kastm »

[ Version 1.08 - Build 1676 ]

Issue:
In the Choking Halifax scenario, a ground unit is supposed to spawn on the shore once the sub reaches a certain point. Instead, I receive a Special Message saying "we are in position", but no unit appears and a Lua error is thrown. It looks like the location where the unit is supposed to deploy is being detected as underwater.

LuaHistory:

Code: Select all

...
Function:ScenEdit_RunScript (0) Error:File path 'DeveloperMode.lua' not found
...
Function:ScenEdit_AddUnit (0) Error:Attempted to place facility: 152nd PDSS Det F (Class: Inf Sec (Naval Spetsnaz OMRP Squad [Generic Laser Designator]) - DBID: 2973) at coordinates: Lat: 44.5983161529611 - Lon: -63.4441014311682 . This point appears to be underwater. Placement aborted!
...
Function:ScenEdit_UpdateUnit (0) Error:Can't find unit guid W1DM5R-0HMPCQ1FC9HU5
To Reproduce:
Just unpausing the scenario and letting it run until ~23:41:39 should suffice, but attached are also saves from just before and just after the issue manifests.

This is an official scenario, hopefully it will be fixed.

In the meantime you can do it by yourself, so that you may continue playing :)

Just changing the longitude a bit inland.

If you have any problem I will post the save fixed.

Thanks, Nikel! I'd been planning to tinker with it but hadn't had much time to play since I posted this thread. I'll do just that next time I'm in the mood for a 'submarine does stuff' scenario; I like those for when I'm not in the mood to plan something with lots of moving parts :D
