Fall of Leningrad

Post by JagdFlanker »

ok guys, opinion time again.

it's mid august in my game, and leningrad was surrounded 2 turns ago at the extreme stretch of supply for germany. i guess we'r playing lorenzo's rules where no hq can do more than 2 interdiction strikes a turn. now on each last turn and this turn germany launched 6 interdiction strikes, did a bombard attack, then a ground attack on leningrad, and my entrenchment went from 7 to 3 to 1 in those 2 turns! now i guess my biggest problem is realistically how can airstrikes reduce entrenchment in any capacity, super especially in a city; but really theres nothing we can do about that since thats hard coded. seeing how i'm likely going to lose leningrad before september, and i don't think anyone can keep leningrad before the blizzards, i think that perhaps a new addition to the leningrad house rule could fix that problem. i suggest that until leningrad falls the first time, NO interdiction strikes may be performed on leningrad PERIOD. air power may only be used in conjunction with a ground assault only. leningrad should be costly to take, but i'm noticing that airpower in this game can make things very easy for you if you group it en mass. if it was 1941 right now who would be saying leningrad would hold out as long as it did!

I think your entrenchment reduction has more to do with your opponent's ground assaults than his air strikes.
