Updated maps and scenario (based on the latest beta update)

Post by Andrew Brown »

Hello all. I haven't visited here is a long time, and I haven't had a lot of time to work on WitP stuff for quite a while, but I have finally got to the stage where I can post some updates here for others to access and check out (and test). These are:
  • Updated game maps (several "versions" - Official, Standard, Extended, Super-Extended)
  • An updated full campaign scenario (scenario 1)
These build on the work that was being done as part of a planned update patch, and which has been released as a beta update (1128). Since those releases, I did some work updating the map to fix various issues and errors that were reported. I also reverted back to a "standard" type map, very close to the original official game map, instead of the "super extended" map. For the scenario, I added a lot of fixes/changes based on things reported in these forums, although I am sure others have been missed (and there are always more to be found).

Hopefully there will still be a future official update that includes these updated maps and the scenario, but in the meantime they can be downloaded from my own WitP website. Here are some more direct links to that site:
Updated "standard" map (for use with the updated scenario 1)
Updated scenario 1

Note that there are two copies of the updated scenario - one saved as scenario 1, and one saved as scenario 101 for anyone who would rather not overwrite the official scenario 1.

In the future I still plan to:
  • Update the other scenarios.
  • Release a version of the scenarios adapted for use with the "super extended" map for anyone interested in using them.
As always, if there are any issues that are found with these, report them, and (time permitting) I will attempt to address them if possible.

Thanks,
Andrew

Really wonderful to see, both you here and the goodies you have made for the community!

I am waiting patiently for the stacking limits for your standard map ;)

Thanks so much for this.

Any chance that the range for British Type 281 radar can be corrected from 21000 to 281000?

Wikipedia says the max range for Type 281 on Air Search is 110 nmi but surface search is 12 nmi. Then it shows a Type 281B with ranges of 220 nmi and 90 nmi.
