Try this steps:
1)Remove any mods from game, restore game to original files via steam or whatever platform.
2)Launch game, start new custom empire game and check that there is no error with ship build window.
3)Install one of problematic mods, switch theme to mod, exit game. Start new custom empire game and check that there is no error with ship build window.
4)Switch back to original theme, exit game. Install EM mod. Start new custom empire game and check that there is no error with ship build window.
5)Switch to mod theme, exit game, check for errors.

This should narrow down where problem occurs. Also you can try newer alpha versions, they don't have any fixes for this bug, but will remove possibility of corrupted files.

Shakturi\Guardians use max tech lvl
New facility type:Diplomacy Academy facility(ID 17)
Added new race types - Bonus Adaptation, this race types will increase or decrease current race bonuses depending on what races they have as population in their empire.
To change race type add "RaceType;1" to race txt file.

BUG REPORT! Alvek: with the latest 2.2.1.3 Alpha version, the Fleet Formation in the Empire Policy Screen, at the bottom, is only partially visible again! You can’t adjust the number of ships for Fleet Formation. Thanks for looking into it... again!

I thought to ask a question in this forum (as well as the DWUR forum) since it seems to be the most active…

It’s not directly Expansion Mod or DWUR-related but maybe you can give some insight given your modding experience.

I also like modding DWU, and have developed Star Trek and Star Wars mods. But for some unknown reason in the Star Wars mod with 30 playable races, I occasionally and randomly get an in-game message claiming some ship images are “missing” for unexisting family47 and family49, and then the game crashes.

As the Star Wars mod only has 30 races, the family shipsets only go up to family29. I’ve checked the races file and they seem to match adequately with the shipsets and troops. Some races do have multiple shipset png images, i.e., cruiser, cruiser1, cruiser2, cruiser3, cruiser4, etc. but the Bacon and Expansion Mods handle multiple images of the same ship-class.

In fact, I’ve checked everything I can think of, and am really puzzled by this error message that crashes the game.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Need error output to be certain. As far as I can tell game fails to load if there is more races then shipsets, had this error after accidentally combining DWUR versions during game start.
But to fail during game it's need to be some edge case where game switch shipsets for some reason I don't know about. Or it some old save with different shipset saved, but this too should crash on loading.

Iirc DWU, BM, EM ignores additional ship names in images, designs, etc. There was only 1 or 2 cases where pdf modding manual not mentioned some edge cases game supported.

If errors output doesn't help with narrowing down reason and game crash within reasonable time then I can download this mod and run game until crash to check with debugging.

Thank you. When I’m able, I’ll upload the mod and share a link. I’ll also post a CrashDump file I saved. In the meantime, I have deleted “excess” same-class shipsets in the hopes it might help. So far with limited play-testing no error messages nor crashes. But more testing is needed because the error messages/crashes were occasional and random.

Anyway, as soon as I’m back to the game, I’ll upload the Star Wars mod so you can play-test, if you wish, as the Galactic Empire. Back soon!

Not a modder, but I've changed ship-pics in DWUR and I know in that mod sets 47, 48 and 49 are the pirates (I changed them to Ferengi, Jemhadar and Cardassian ship sets I got from an old star trek mod!). Those numbered sets aren't in the base DW:U though, which only has 26 numbered ones and 'other'.

Alvek, here is a OneDrive link to the Star Wars Universe Mod. Includes 4 Star Wars races (Confederacy of Independent Systems, Galactic Empire, the Republic and the Rebellion, the DWU races (DWUR-style), and 4 DWUR races, for a total of 30 playable races.

My play-testing has been mainly with the Empire. I’ve noticed that those random error/crash messages about “missing” shipset images for non-existing family47 and family49 tend to occur when making an alternate ship-class, for example, like a new escort-class with an alternate escort png. Curious that the alternate png image doesn’t always “save” at first, only after several attempts. Game plays for a while and then occasionally the error messages/crash. Thanks for any help!

From error message looks like UI problem where new value of some numeric is out of min\max range, should be easy to fix.

When the error messages came up, they mentioned “missing” certain shipset png images for race families that do not exist in the mod: specifically I remember family47 and family49. With 30 playable races, the shipset families go from family0 to family29. Seems so odd. I cannot understand it.

Not sure yet, just checked code from mobile, but looks like there is wrong comparison in bacon code that checks if it from certain shipset and shipset11 included in shipset1, because 11 contains 1 (same logic for every numer combination). And then you think you have more shipsets then there are and fails on that.

When you say shipset11 you mean family11? Interesting the possible error. But that really shouldn’t be a problem since I don’t recall having encountered this issue in my Star Trek Kirk Era Mod with 45 playable races. Nor in the EM version of DWUR with 46 races.

It’s something peculiar with this Star Wars Universe Mod with 30 races. By the way, the version I uploaded incorporates the latest changes I made: deleting several same-class capitalship png images for the Empire. I think there were 7 or 8 capitalship images, maybe there were too many for the game to calculate correctly?

With this uploaded version, I play-tested a little but this time without the error messages and crashes. Need more testing time but it looks somewhat hopeful…
