Chronicle is unleashed!

Post by markwall06 »

Hello all

I updated my "Adjutant" script, which you may recall allowed you to overlay your units onto a planning map. Since then I've been working on an updated version that suggests moves, and which, if you wish it, can link in with an AI to suggest moves more sentiently(!)and give advice. I've renamed it "Chronicle"
Rather than add to the original post and risk no-one seeing it, I've made a new post
Because it's taken so long I have included a Donation option which will pop every 15 times you run it, but that's not too annoying, right, 15 turns?

Anyway, I've included it as a file below. It should work for both sides but I've only tried it for the Axis. Oh and I included an OOB generator which will take your current OOB and generate a webpage.
I know, you'll say "I can get all that inside the game! True, but it's free and you don't have to use it, so why not give it a go?

Hi Mark,

I absolutely appreciate your work to get things AI analysed for WitE2.
GREAT STUFF. Much, much appreciated.

All works pretty well for me, however, I ran into the problem, with the OOB Generator.

It basically generates an empty page. See Screenshot.

For forum upload compliance, I have attached one file as txt-files. But of course it is actually the generated html. Just rename it.

Maybe you have an idea what I am doing wrong. :?:

mmm, that is a bit odd.
Have you pointed the Data Folder to the folder that contains the exported Commander's Report files, or at least copied them into the folder you have named 20250212-41 CG Soviet (Axis Hard AI)?
The script is actually looking for two files that are part of the export process, Unit-Main.csv, and HQ-HQs.csv. If it doesn't find them that could lead to that screenshot.

If it does find them, then it should generate an html page and tell you where it's done that, you then navigate to it and double click it

Personally I have put a shortcut to the Commander's Report on my desktop (I'm on Windows) so i can quickly get to the folder. I haven't tested it for the Soviet side but theroetically it should work.

These are some images I just took showing what it looks like for me

Let me know if that works for you, and if not I'll investigate further, and thanks for trying it out and for the feedback

Hi Mark,

i restarted everything and now it works. :D

Thanks for your suggestions.

To clarify, I have seperate folders for different games that I am playing.
I pointed the Chronical Data Folder to such storage location.
There I copied all CR csv files as well as all one-off editor exports.

All Chronicle APP files are located in their seperate folder independent from any game data.

I will continue to play around with your solution and also provide more detailed feedback. :D

Chronicle is a very nice complimentary AI Tool to my own Excel-Sheet crunching CR Reports and my Google NotebookLM.

Keep up the great momentum of development. This is the modern way to analyse WitE2 by providing suggestions as a real-life general staff would do.

Cheers

Terry
