Quick Questions Thread

War in Spain 1936-39 is the first in a new wargame series, using a new Land-Sea-Air engine inspired by War in the Pacific - Admiral’s Edition. Gameplay and realism are improved by TRUE AI and a detailed Logistics systems. A hyper detailed OOB reaches down to battalion and company level. A beautiful, hand drawn, 5 nautical mile per hex map massively increases player immersion.

I've never noticed this tooltip before :) Thx!

Next question: What does the hash symbol in front of unit names mean?

The hash mark indicates a fragment.

Question: There is a large refinery in Las Canarias. And a puny oilfield. Is there any other OIL source available to the Nationalists? It doesn't seem like it.

There are no oilfields anywhere except Las Canarias

There is a decent oil stockpile in Portugal, and some at Masawa for the small refinery there....that seems to be it

Am I missing something?

If there's no oil source the Refinery is useless; based on the oil present at Canarias, it will fire-up every 25 days or so for 1 Day

Thanks.....no oil field there, but it is stockpiling 550 a day, which is enough to run all the refineries

What Ranger Joe said, though AKs load/unload VERY slowly when carrying Fuel/Oil

Nationalists do get 2 Tankers; a small-ish one, the Tiklis, and another larger tanker that starts the game unseaworthy in Cadiz; she needs to go for a long repair, but should be ready by November 1936-ish.

But that's it save for a few small fuel tenders.....

The only place I can find any reference to Spanish Guinea getting 550 tons of oil per day from external sources is the WiS editor (along with 200/day of fuel). Other locations also get extra oil/fuel. Is there any way to see these additional daily amounts in normal player mode? I think WitP AE had these extra amounts listed on the base screen in parentheses.

I don't know, but would clicking on the industry icon in the pink area help?

So the additional daily amounts are seen by doing a mouseover of the production buttons at the bottom of the Hex Information Display. I had missed that. Clicking on those buttons brings up the location's Industry Screen, which does not list the additional amounts.

Hi folks,

now that I know how to resupply a tender (thx!), I've got a similar problem with a hospital ship (AH Marques ..). It is in port, so no idea what the problem is.

That is no problem. It is a transport that also functions as a hospital. It will help to repair devices when it is not in a TF and can act as a transport otherwise.

Add that ship to a TF, support or transport would do, give orders to that TF to load supplies. Once it is loaded with supplies keep the TF formed or disband it. The AH ship loaded with supplies either in the TF or in port will avoid that message to appear.

I admit I don't know if the AH ship has to be loaded with supplies.

I don't think so. I regularly use it empty in the Battle of Mallorca.
And it seems that the healing of sick soldiers is really fast. :?:

Errhhh i have no clue if the AH ship must be loaded with supplies to act as an hospital ship or not. I only said that if you load it with supplies you avoid the OP message "AH Marques de Comillas at XXX, YYY: out of supplies".
