Merge Crashing Fix

So many people have mentioned crashes when attempting to merge two units. However I have found a way to fix this, and hopefully a way for the devs to repair the program:

To replicate: Start a new game from the main menu. Merge two units. It should crash.

The fix is simple: Start a new game, save the game and quit to the main menu, finally reload the save. Merging should work unimpeded now.

The merge crash was fixed in the update.
