Coastal Artillery without a Coast!

War in Spain 1936-39 is the first in a new wargame series, using a new Land-Sea-Air engine inspired by War in the Pacific - Admiral’s Edition. Gameplay and realism are improved by TRUE AI and a detailed Logistics systems. A hyper detailed OOB reaches down to battalion and company level. A beautiful, hand drawn, 5 nautical mile per hex map massively increases player immersion.

Coastal Artillery without a Coast!

Post by Q-Ball »

It's not a big deal really, but curious about this unit, the Torre de un Pau CD Battery. Was it a real unit? It's a Static unit of 2x210mm CD guns (or about 8.3 inches), so decent coastal artillery:

What is curious is that this unit is fixed in place in Burgos, which of course is very far away from any kind of coast.

Did this unit exist?

And is it basically then just fixed artillery?

It should not be in Burgos but if the hex/base where it was supposed to come in is controlled by the enemy then it might show up in Burgos when it comes into play. I suggest loading an earlier save from before it enters the game and see where it is supposed to be placed.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are missing! :o

Ah, that is it.....it is meant to appear at Son San Juan, the airfield just outside Palma. This is Republican controlled, so it appeared in Burgos.

Oh well, at least Burgos will be defended against any amphibious landings!

You can relocate the unit if you want to do so.

The correct procedure is to disband this unit.
And put the guns in the pools as spares (they will come in handy someday...).

But as JR advises you, in this strange engine you can actually move the static 21cm guns.... :|
