Turn 17. May/June 1942. Allied #3. Impulse Planning.

Western Allied

Actions: USA –Combine, CW –Land, France – Land
03-AL-IP-West-Obs-Action.png
03-AL-IP-West-Obs-Action.png (28.08 KiB) Viewed 21 times
Med, North Africa
1. West Med – Tactical mistake last impulse – Used Fr BB to search (only Fr unit in sea area); requiring USN or RN to search this impulse & forcing a combine vs both (US & CW) taking a land.
2. USA will take a combine & search West Med, which leaves US with (only) 4 land moves & 2 land combat.
3. US allocated 1 of 1 rail, 1 - 2 of 4 land moves & both (i.e., 2 of 2) land combats to W. Med.
4. If supply broken (in West Med), US 3rd inf div & UK Mar Eng civ land (unopposed); otherwise (i.e., supply NOT broken), then do NOT land (2 divs) & maintain amph threat.
5. Take Cagliari, Sardinia w/o loss or flip.
6. UK WDF armor capture Sousse & other organized CW & Fr land units move east into or towards Tunisia with the (eventual) aim of liberating Tunis.
7. Capture Benghazi (joint CW & Fr assault) without loss or flip.

USAAF & RAF Strategic Bombing Raids (X3)
8. RAF Stirling (Malta) -> (XR, Day, fine, UNOPP) Taranto; Ex[Kill] = 0.6 BP.
9. USAAF B-18 (Dover) -> (XR, Day, rain, UNOPP) Ge Oil RP (SE1-Hanover); Ex[kill]=0.4 Oil
10. USAAF B-18a(Harwich)-> (Day, rain, UNOPP) Ge Hanover fac; Ex[kill] = 0.5 BP.

Pacific
11. South China Sea – with storm & carrier flight operations suspended, do not risk search & with bad split having US CV surprised and possibly damage, or even sunk, by IJN patrol CA[3].
12. This restriction applies during (next) axis impulse even if IJN “replaces” lost/aborted CPs.
13. USN search restriction only lifted when flight operations can resume (i.e., fine or rain).
14. Of course, if IJN searches during storm, USN (non-phasing) will also search. Search restriction during storm applies to initiating search.
15. Malaya – US 1 LM, 10th Mtn div; US/CW make no moves that flip units.
16. CRITIAL – Keep in mind that MAL partisan (E1-Kuala Lumpur) will flip sides (again) when Malaya is liberated during that end of turn step.
17. Sumatra (NEI) – US 1-2 LM. Push Mar corps and/or div towards Palembang.

USSAF Air Rebase
18. Atlantic – P-38 FTR-2 rebase to Labrador 43, 22; put P-39 (6x3=18) 18-yexes from Cape Farwell, Greenland. Next AL impulse will then be able to fly naval air to Denmark St[0], then rebase at end of turn to Iceland (22,12). Then next turn (air missions & priorities allowing) rebase to UK. FYI, rebase for US to UK make w/o any sea lift.
19. Pacific x 2. P-35 (8x3=24), P-40(8x3=24). Truk -> Sorong, NEI & then later (AM priorities allowing), rebase to Menado on the South China & Bismarck Seas.

Turn 17. May/June 1942. Allied #3. Impulse Planning.

USSR – Land.

Eastern Front – 3 Soviet Fronts (Baltic, Belorussian, Ukrainian)
Baltic Front (no HQ, currently):
1. Screen Finns (possibly) flanking rom Finnish Borderlands; specifically, garrison Novgorod & screen East.
2. Maintain rear guard in Vilna (& Minsk -> Belorussian Front).
3. Optimize FLOT north of Dvina in Latvia.
Belorussian Front (Koniev HQ-I):
4. Maintain rear guard in Minsk.
5. Establish FLOT west of Dvina.
6. Establish Main FLOT Pskov to W1-Mogliev.
Ukrainian Front (Timoshenko HQ-I)
7. RAIL Odessa Blue Factory East.
8. Maintain rearguards in Odessa, Cernauti.
9. Establish ZOC Lock rearguard FLOT forward of Kirvoy Rog (RP x 3), Nikolayev (Black Sea minor port) & Kiev.
10. Establish Main Flot Kiev <-> Kirvoy <-> Nikolaeyev; however, be prepared to fall back with minimal losses east of Dnieper plus (west) Dnepropetrovsk + woods.

Asian Theater
11. Rebase FTR-2 x 3 to Vladivostok.
12. Move land units to rail heads; without any flips.

Turn 17. May/June 1942. Allied #3. Impulse Planning.

CCP – Land.
1. Hold ALL on current positions.
2. Given IJA Army Groups Yamashita & Yamamoto (all units) are out of supply; Jp likely to make limited (if any) land moves vs CCP.
3. CCP when weather improves or AG Yamashita and/or Yamamoto land moves likely; will establish a solid FLOT running from Yenan (north) to SE1-Sian (south).
4. Currently (i.e., this turn), this requires putting Mao HQ-I on the front line (likely in the Mtn E1-Sian).
5. However; next turn CCP gets CAV corps which would allow Mao HQ-I off the front line.

Active WAR.

NAT – Land.
1. Nationalist are TOAST – only remaining units, 2nd cav corps is isolated.
2. However; 2nd cav -> SW1 (Mtn, NE1-Hengyang), which cuts Antimony RP (if being shipped).
