Erik's post was July 8th, 2025:

https://forums.matrixgames.com/viewtopi ... 3#p5231473

So...8 months.

Maybe he's waiting for me to get some more stuff finished? The "to do" list may even be longer now than it was then.

That's assuming he's paying attention to this at all. Fingers crossed.

I once worked in sales (b2b.. i finally hated it so i left but i learned some things here and there) and if i had waited for any customer to come to me i would not have sold a thing. Dont wait, just write him again. If there is no answer after some weeks, write again.

I think it's pretty poor that you have busted your arse for years to bring this update to us and that Matrix have ignored your email for so many months. In this case I think it might be better to act without permission and beg for forgiveness later than spend who knows how long waiting for permission and not act at all.

Again, I need a FTP site for the beta test.

You have the ability to assign people as testers. I don't see why you just don't assign whoever wants to test it.

If you mean people on the Development Team, then sure. They have access to the Development FTP site. But how many are around still?

For the general public to be "assigned", I need another FTP site available to the general public.

I guess the simplest thing is to take a rollcall of the development team; give instructions for specifically you want tested; and go from there.
For new testers; get them to pm you so that you can personally vet them.
A public Beta test could well end up being a circus costing you more time and effort than you put in now.

The public can be whoever wants to test it. I see people wanting a beta test so why don't they join the test team? Do they really want to test it or just say they want to? If they want a beta test then join the test team.

There's a drill you have to go through to join the Development Board. Here's a shot of a post with MaximKI, who manages such tasks, from the last time I did this.

So, let this be a call for volunteers for the beta test. This will also make you a Development Board member. Just message me if you want to volunteer.

Edit: I hope I'm not violating some restriction by posting that text from MaximKI. If I am I'll have to delete this. But the link won't work just from the screen shot, so I don't think so.

Maybe, if enough people ask to be testers, he'll let you go ahead with a public beta.

BTW. Your email to him may be buried under so many emails he will never see it. Send him another.

Yeah, kinda thought it would go that way. Exactly how much does anyone actually want to see this? Nothing will be done if it's not likely to sell much. Currently it's not selling much anyway so probably not much incentive.

I see three big steps forward on what you're working on for this game. The first one - being able to move units between formations - is beyond huge for a lot of existing scenarios. Particularly longer ones. The second one, having leaders, is fun because what it allows you to experience is either have an extra push or drag. The Proficiency and Support don't have to do all the work. It’s like adding spices to the cooking. The third part of just correcting programming quirks is icing on the cake.

I cooled my TOAW4 jets a bit because I was waiting for this. Now I'm tinkering under the hood trying to get a feel for using the editor in anticipation. I would pay for this.

I’ll participate. Sending the request now.
If you're STILL making Panzer IIs after seeing your first T-34... you're probably going to lose.

Hi Bob,
I can help playtest. Last time I messed with it I couldn't really get it to run very well. That was years ago now though. I thought you might have spruced it up a bit since then and maybe it's ready for another go around.
If it is then I'm in.
Cheers
