Turn 17. May/June 1942. Allied #7. Impulse Planning. Western Allies.

Actions: USA –Combine, CW –Combine, France – Combine
Atlantic

1. RN NM 1-2/2, replace 5 lost (2 sunk) CPs in Bay of Biscay (3 from Liverpool & 2 from Gibraltar)
2. RN/USN might have to face an Italian Sub Search (2 Gps).
3. Will Italian Sub Gps search in the Bay of Biscay given G/L < 1?
4. Most likely they won’t, given there isn’t anything either side can do this late in the turn to affect that ratio.
5. USAAF P-38 FTR-2 rebase to Cape Farewell, Greenland (from Newfoundland 43,322).

Pacific
6. USN NM 1/3. 2 Sub Gps (Manila) -> South China Sea[3] & [2].
7. NM 2/3. CP. Pago Pago (American Samoa) -> Coral Sea.
8. NM 3/3. CP. Manila->Coral Sea; likely to risk intercept attempt by IJN in which case 30% it’s stopped & 70% chance it gets through.
9. South China Sea – search & commit 3 Sub Gps (2 to move in & 1 already) there with primary objective of knocking out (sink/abort) 2 IJN CPs & secondary objective of knocking out loaded TRS Gp w/SNLF mar corps & CA Mogami w/2nd eng div.
10. Given IJN likely (will definitely) react Zero FTR-2 & D2A1 Nav-2 (Hong Kong) to cover CPs; objective naval combat type either sub or surface (depending on SPs).
11. LM 1 of 4. 10th Mtn Div -> Larut Rubber PR.
12. LM 2 of 4. 5th MAR->W1-Palembang & assault adjacent (NW1) NEI Partisan; “rules” misunderstanding by Japan in which they thought 0-str partisan in swamp defended at 1-str allows for the US (or NEI) to make an automatic assault to eliminate this partisan and clear NEI of partisans.
13. Pacific x 2. P-35 (8x3=24), P-40(8x3=24) rebase to Menado.

Med
14. RN will NOT search West Med in order NOT to risk [0] supply CP and loaded TRS Gp w/V inf.
15. It’s a hard pill to swallow for the RN; but risking either isn’t worth the attempt of trying to knock out remaining It air Gps (2 FTR, 1 NAV) still at sea [2].
16. Whirlwind F/B (2) will ground strike isolated It D’ Aosta inf in Olbia (20% chance of flip).
17. If flipped (20%), CW will use all 3 of the LMs and their 1 LC to take Olbia & eliminate Italian inf corps & flipped BA.65 LND-2.
18. If not flipped (80%), 1 of 3 LM for WDF tank corps (Sousse, Tunisia) to overrun, destroy LBA Terr (W1-Gabes), liberate Gabes & move back towards Tunis.
19. LM 2 of 3, will be used to Debark UK V inf, West Med[0] -> Cagliari.
20. LM 3 of 3, for Monty HQ-A to move east towards Tunis & 1 (more) fine weather impulse from being adjacent.
21. Both French corps will do the same (not sure if they both can be positioned for 1 (more) fine weather impulse to move adjacent (to Tunis); but ordered to do their best to make it so.
22. Independent of flip, US 3rd inf div will capture Ajaccio (US LM 3/4).
23. US will use their rail (1 of 1) to 1st mot eng div from Casablanca to Algeria.
24. US LM 4 of 4 open to various theater commanders to make their best case for it during the impulse.
