What hit my ship?

War in Spain 1936-39 is the first in a new wargame series, using a new Land-Sea-Air engine inspired by War in the Pacific - Admiral’s Edition. Gameplay and realism are improved by TRUE AI and a detailed Logistics systems. A hyper detailed OOB reaches down to battalion and company level. A beautiful, hand drawn, 5 nautical mile per hex map massively increases player immersion.

What hit my ship?

Post by Q-Ball »

Just had this combat, but I've seen a couple variations.....this is a combat between a Nationalist TF consisting of 1xCA, 1xCL, and DD Churrucca, vs. a YMS. The YMS is unarmed. Yet, this happened:

It's a bad hit, not sure the Destroyed will survive.

The only CD guns anywhere close are Nationalist
The only Republican ships nearby, other than subs, are YMS and a PB that has a single MG for armament. The YMS are all unarmed.

I have seen other ships take hits in combat when they were attacking an LB, which are always unarmed

Any idea here?

It was a karma for sure. Because DD Churrucca should to be on the Government side!

Could be Karma, who knows.....but my opponent has no idea either. Maybe I hit my own mine or something? (though the nearest mine was 4 hexes away)

I think "Shell hits" is reserved for guns (including machine guns) and not mines. It must have been a golden BB from the YMS or PB.

Being a nigth combat i would put my bet in friendly fire....

One of the last post here https://forums.matrixgames.com/viewtopic.php?t=415311 show how deadly friendly fire can be in nigth combats.

Friendly fire is always more deadly and accurate than enemy fire.

During the naval combat, you can click on the flags to see what weapon is hitting what ship even if you don't know which ship fired the weapon. You can also look at the ships to see what their target is.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are missing! :o
