Turn 84 Allied phase
February 3, 1945.
Air losses for Allies, including ground support is 844 for turn. Germany lost 425. This is an advantage of 419 for Luftwaffe. Below is chart for Allied air phase and combat action.
Next chart shows German unit losses for turn. I have highlighted them in blue. Hungarian losses are from Eastern Front so are not included.
Ground losses are next. Germany lost 31,782 while Allies lost 17,399. Below is chart.
Final picture is of Yugoslavia / Italian invasion. Both sides have small units but hexes were taken by Allies. Axis port though, is very secure.

BLM is working so I am able to show Italian combat hexes. One hex was taken by Combat on Yugoslavia Peninsula. It is circled in red.
Following is one of two hexes taken by combat. Each one was taken in one attack.
Second hex taken in combat.
Final pictures shows hexes withdrawn from by Germany.

Turn 84 France
February 3, 1945.
First two pictures show the front and how it is converging into one piece.
First contact line picture.
Second contact line picture. You can see how all the hexes that Germany withdrew from are not occupied. Bad weather hampers.
The next picture I wanted to show is the 84 German Infantry Division surrendering. This has not happened much in this challenge because Metalist is so good at protection. And to be clear, this is just an anomaly; for which the Allies have had so few of.
Next picture is of the La Rochelle fort / port garrison surrendering. They cannot move so always surrender if forced to retreat.
This will sound odd but after a week off I found it challenging to construct the AAR for this turn. There is much going on for each turn now but I do not want posts to be boring. Yet I want to be able to show a conscience narrative of the complex turn.

Germany attacked once and routed an American armor company. Below is results.
Germany lost 132 aircraft while Allies lost 75 during German air and combat phase.
Next picture shows north end of French contact line. Airborne unit is circled in pink. Green line shows withdrawing hexes by Axis units.
Final picture show continuation of French contact line. Some parts are unknown.

Turn 85 Allied air phase
February 10, 1945.
Germany inflicted around 7,000 losses during its whole combat phase while loosing little. Allies inflicted over 17,000 losses just during air phase. Yet this is normal. below is picture.
Air losses during Allied air phase are 337 for Axis while Allies lost 593. Total for all up to this point are, 469 for Germany while Allies have lost 668. This is an advantage of 199 for the Luftwaffe. Below is Allied air phase.
I wanted to show how much the air campaign can change due to ground combat. Below is final chart for air losses with ground air losses. More than a hundred were added to German air losses. All said, the new numbers are 576 Luftwaffe losses while Allies lost 683. Many aircraft when you think about it. It is still a German advantage of 107.
Final ground losses for Allied combat are below. Though roughly speaking, 38,000 for Germany while Allies lost 18,500.

Turn 85 Airborne post
February 10, 1945.
Wanted to talk about airborne activity. Allies are trying to disrupt front line German logistics, active air bases, and finally create isolation pockets. At this stage of the war Germany finds it difficult to destroy airborne divisions. Yet weather hinders Allied advances. However, airborne drops are not effected by terrain; only distance. Eight hexes from main supply. Next four pictures shows how one hex separating a British airborne division in Italy was successfully defended by Germany. Albeit at great cost. BLM is working so I think you will like this minor story in the Italian campaign.
First attack: Pink hex is airborne division. Green line is hexes withdrawn by Axis. Red hex is the one hex Allies took by combat. Finally, the black circled hex is the one that became a battleground. By the way, a naval task force was used too.
Second attack: Just hex in black.
Third attack: On this display you can see the task force. It is circled in blue. I circled losses in yellow, showing some of the cost.
Fourth attack: Germany held but I believe this will force Axis forces to retreat back a couple more hex rows, thus securing the airborne division.

Turn 85 Allied ground combat
February 10, 1945.
I do not want to be redundant so I will give just a quick update on other sectors.
Yugoslavia Peninsula. A couple hexes were won but only one was occupied.
Spain line. Many hexes were vacated while others were won by combat. A few Axis units routed. Germany is doing a controlled retreat in this area. Makes sense too. Do not want to be cut off. Given current conditions, Allies can only advance two hexes because of rail limitations and heavy forest hexes.
Northern France. I have included the new airdrop. It is a long way from friendly lines but one of the originals linked up, so there is hope.
Southern France. Allies were not able to occupy all the empty hexes. Old airborne hex is in pink.
I have an extra picture slot (system allows four) so wanted to show the one port and hex of Italy that is not part of Yugoslavia. It is bottom of picture.

You said you would update SU positions in 1945, well it is now Feb 1945 in game, post the shotkentkroeckel wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 2:47 am Response to Mr. Bairdlander2 on the Eastern Front.
On Page 17, halfway down you will find the Eastern Front advance. It is just after turn 79 and before turn 80. It is on two posts.
The subject line of first post reads, "1945".
The subject line of second part reads, "1945 Eastern Front".
I find it odd that more people have viewed page 18 of this AAR instead of the end of page 17 of this AAR.
Thank you for your question on this matter Mr. Bairdlander2. Yet now I have some potential bad news. As of a couple days ago Metalist has been experiencing a problem with WitW. The air phase for turn 81 processed correctly.
Moreover, when the ground phase for Axis was saved on a few occasions during turn processing, system seemed fine. However, when Metalist sent turn to WitW server, it did not register as completed. Metalist has been attempting to overcome this dilemma the last few days but so far no success. the Axis ground phase refused to show as a completed turn. Additionally, trying to get assistance from WitW staff support seems doubtful too. This puts completion of this challenge in jeopardy! I think the expanded air missions mess up WitW processing limits, as it relates to missions needing to be processed. After all, this scenario was created after main game was structured and no developer thought there could be so many missions. Each Allied phase can have near two hundred and fifty missions.
Best regards Mr. Bairdlander2,
Sincerely, Kent Kroeckel

Allies took two hexes of Italy by combat. One was occupied and the other was not. First picture shows the empty hex.
Next hex shows much. This victory freed an isolated airborne division. Combat incorporated a naval task force. Look at the losses for Germany. Over a thousand.
Next picture shows hexes that were vacated by Germany. They are highlighted in green.
Final picture is of Yugoslavia Peninsula. One hex was vacated.

I decided to take a snapshot of a very long sequence that embodies challenges of France for both sides. Weather impacting logistics and movement while resources diminish for combat.
One of seven.

Three of seven.

Five of seven.
Six of seven.
Seven of seven.
This one hex consumed so much for both sides yet it is still just one hex. I chose one more example that Allies won in a single attack. I think it gives a flavor of how attacks are progressing for France. Not all end this way but several are. Not necessarily in a (one attack victory) but ultimately a victory.

Turn 87 France
February 24, 1945.
First picture shows Northern France. Behind red line are hexes taken by combat and withdraw. One airborne division is still isolated but the contact line is moving towards it.
Next picture is heading south on contact line in France. I have circled Paris for reference. Two airborne divisions are circled on this picture. One from before which is still behind lines and one that has just gotten liberated. Many hexes have been taken by combat and withdrawn by Axis. I have circled yellow units which are routed or are HQ. Point being, no combat value. there is a weak spot opening up.
Next picture shows continuation of combat and withdraw but the Loire River is dividing France in this region. For both sides it is a wall.
Final picture shows France contact line reaching Spain contact line. Many hexes have been taken. For reference I circled main port in blue at bottom of picture. Logistics could be a problem for these Axis units.

Turn 88 German phase
March 3, 1945.
Victory points: For turn -37 and game total is 573.
Europe: Weather in air is cold.
Ground is snow. levels for water and snow are 3-8.
Italy: weather in air is rain and cold.
Ground is light and heavy mud. water and snow level 3-8.
Naval invasion failed so added to Axis victory points.
Germany attacked the one remaining airborne division still isolated. First attack is below.
Second attack. Allied airborne division retreated but in essence was destroyed. Nearly nine thousand losses for Allies. This added to Axis victory points for turn. Yet I believe this sacrifice helped in forcing Germany to retreat several hexes.
Final picture is of German air phase. Axis lost 98 while Allies lost 59.

Allied air phase was unexpectedly costly. Mostly due to operational losses. Total German losses so far are 369 while Allies have lost 901. A large difference.
