Returning Shuttle Bombing aircraft to their home commands

Sent a raid on a shuttle bombing mission in November of 43, aircraft are now stuck in Italy, cant send them on a return mission as when I assign the groups the shuttle option disappears from the mission planner. Move squadron also does not allow me to select bases in the UK when attempting a rebase of the detachments. how can I return these squadrons to England?

I just released a patch on this thread: https://forums.matrixgames.com/viewtopic.php?t=416740 that addresses several issues, including shuttle missions. You can load a current save with the patch and hopefully it fixes what you are talking about.

One helpful feature I added for shuttles shows a line back to the original base when you select the detached unit to move if you want it to recombine with the parent unit. Other move choices will be bases under the parent HQ.

FYI You can only move detached groups back to their parent HQ bases. You can't even fly shuttle missions with them, you have to move them if you wish to leave their current shuttle base.
