Can we have steam overlay implemented?

For two reasons, the Note feature steam overlay has, which is handy to make notes, esp for a new player and seasoned players could make a to-do list for their next session of play etc. Also the steam guides/discussion could be accessed in the overlay too.

I think I read/heard somewhere that Shadow Empire wasn't really made to go to Steam at all. I believe Battlemode spoke about it on his channel some time ago or was it in Vic's blog? Can't remember.
So it is missing all the necessary infrastructure for Steam integration, such as overlay, play together, workshop support etc.

Unless the game is completely redesigned, this integration is not going to happen.
Wish it would though.

I've always struggled to understand the value of steam and so I play the SE direct from Matrix/Slitherine.

In general, for games that are properly "integrated" with steam, what does it add to the player experience besides being a one-stop-shop retail outlet?
