Quick Questions Thread

War in Spain 1936-39 is the first in a new wargame series, using a new Land-Sea-Air engine inspired by War in the Pacific - Admiral’s Edition. Gameplay and realism are improved by TRUE AI and a detailed Logistics systems. A hyper detailed OOB reaches down to battalion and company level. A beautiful, hand drawn, 5 nautical mile per hex map massively increases player immersion.

It doesn't seem to be the case

This is needed, because the Republicans occupied Son San Juan, the airbase on Mallorca.....and an Italian Bomber unit scheduled to appear there instead appears in Napoli. It can only be moved by SHIP.

Is there a way to do that?
7.5.2.2 Loading Aircraft
There are 2 ways to load air units on a ship.
1. As cargo (have a TF load the air units) or
2. As an active air unit (by moving the group onto a capable ship).

You should be able to do that.

Thanks RJ,

I know we can ferry AC by truck or rail. In these cases do they have to be in a LCU Reserve Counter?
You can also airfield hop when ferrying, but I think this has a distance limit. Can't recall.

A ferry unit is the air type of RSV unit. Otherwise the unit can get them directly from supplies if they are close enough to the base that would have them.

Hi folks,

during my tutorial scenario as republican, I've noticed many LCUs lacking HQ support. Additionally, it seems that every HQ (3 in total) are already overloaded with subordinates. Is there anything I can do?

There is a discussion of this issue on another thread. However, I haven't seen these HQ messages with the latest version (v 55). It may have been fixed at some point, so you may want to check what version you are using.

There aren't really overloaded HQs in WiS like there are in WitE2 or WitW. You can set the Combat Groups option to either Historical or Ad Hoc. With Historical, you can't change how the LCUs are grouped into higher formations.

1. Combat animation i.e air combat speed is so fast that Im having trouble keeping up reading the messages. Is there any setting that makes them slower? I didnt find anything. Animations are high detailed and enabled but they did not help. I think in witp it was possible to make them go slower.

I always enjoyed watching both air and naval combat in witp. In wis its so fast that its constants struggle to keep up with it.

2. Also the combat screen is tiny screen on the left side and it seems it doesnt really scale with any setting except resolution. The popup setting does not have effect on it. I had to make my screen resolution lower so that I can actually see the combat screen.

3. Scenario Zaragosa or death. It says its suppose to end 15.9.1936 but it doesnt. It just continues. But maybe I won since I have Zaragosa? Didnt find any score summary

I've browsed the thread, thx for the link. Ive been using the latest beta, but the original savegames were used in older versions - maybe thats an issue.

I've got an WitE2 background, so to speak, so I'm trained to eliminate overloaded HQs :) I'll check those options.

I cannot find the so-called Replacement Screen from where the player should be able to automate RSV creation.

The manual explains this screen in 8.2.5 and it is referred to in section 16.6.1 "Ground Reserve Units (RSV)", where it's called the Re-inforcement panel. (And then, the ToC refers to the section 8.2.5 as the "Reinforcement Screen". Plus, the 8.2.1-reference is wrong)

To be clear, I don't mean the Pilot Replacement or the LCU/Airgroup Reinforcement Schedule.

It's a bit confusing, I'm sorry.

Cheers!

Thank you for your report. I'll take a look at the manual. And Alessandro here to show you how to find the screen you're looking for. A new update was released yesterday. Update to that in the meantime....GP

Click the side bar on "Full list".
Then click the text on the lower right corner.

The side bar has no button to go there directly, as it seems.
