Turn 25 End 1/3

North

My units are very weak but numerouse, so instead of direct assault I have decided to take advantage of gaps in German line. Intention is to isolate Axis troops from supply and let attitrion do the job.

In center, near Smolensk situation is most favourable out of all part of the front.
Most cavalry corps were created here and aim it to keep Germans off balance via deep pernetrations.

I have very weak formations here, so objectives are limited - get some wins in Donetsk area and strenghten defences of Sevastopol.

Turn 26 End 1/2

Germans reinforced Pskov area so my weak troops are neither able to crack first defensive line nor advance beyond it.
Not looking good at all.
In Velikie Luki situation is even worse - I am not capable of doing any push at all.

Only active part of central front is in Kursk area.
Germans defending very activily and slowly retreating, I am not strong enough to take advantage of this favourable conditions.

Barely any actions here. Lots of units were routed by German attacks in previsous turns. Valuable time is wasted and there is no prospect of significant improvement.

I managed to get small gap in German lines but I have not enough decent units to take advantage of it. It looks like Winter counteroffensive in the north ended before it has started.
Sad but true.

Lots of German counterattacks stopped my penetrations and led to significant loss in strenght of my advancing troops.
Opponents defences are more cohesive now, so moment of greatest opportunity is gone.

I am gradually building up forces in the south to be ready for late winter small attacks and early spring shift to defense.

What victory conditions are you playing?

If sudden death is enabled you must be close to the T29 Axis auto-loss number (high watermark below 525).

No sudden death as far as I remember.
