4 points to make it a surface action, and save 3 points to select one target.

Japan will place the final X (fourth X?) on an undamaged CV. USS Antietam, if undamaged, will take the final X for Allies.

Japan will take the results as follows.
The first ships listed will take all results it can take before the second takes all results and so on.
CA Aoba -> CA Kinugasa -> CA Furutaka -> CA Nachi -> CA Mikuma -> CA Mogami

Another way to put it...
1st X -> CA Aoba
2nd X -> CA Aoba if available, otherwise CA Kinugasa
3rd X -> CA Kinugasa if available, otherwise CA Furutaka
4th X -> CA Furutaka if available, otherwise CA Nachi
5th X -> CA Nachi if available, otherwise CA Mikuma
1st D -> CA Mikuma if available, otherwise CA Mogami

Axis damage

Now this will hurt. I regret not taking more CAs for losses, apparently counted on finding and taking naval air...

Allies stay, how about Axis?

We don't add any more air.

4 points to make it a surface action, and save 4 points to select one target.

Japan will place the final X (fourth X?) on an undamaged CV. USS Yorktown II, if undamaged, will take the final X for Allies.

Japan will take the results as follows:

1st X -> CA Mikuma
2nd X -> CA Mogami
3rd X -> CA Mogami if available, otherwise CA Haguro
4th X -> CA Haguro if available, otherwise CA Tone
1st D -> CA Tone if damaged, otherwise BB Kongo
1st A -> BB Yamato
2nd A -> BB Suma

Axis will stay.

Axis losses (last two rolls were not 1's, those are autogenerated as defense is 0)

Allies add Black Widow to box 3 (it was going to be used for ground strikes, but situation has changed)

Allies 4, Axis 8

Allies choose naval air combat and from the Axis boxes 0 and 4

US planes as shown in picture and listed below (I add the save file too)

US 17 fighters, 10 bombers + NAV3 that is not shown
CW 2 fighters

Which Japanese planes fly as fighter and bomber?

What is the Allied total fighter value? And how many surprise points does Allies have?

Good question and I noticed I had CVPs without air to naval factors. So here are more fighters than I wrote before.

I did it again and got following fighter A2A values

9888777777666655554443 = I believe 21.5 points

Allies have 2 surprise points.

I think 6 is the correct number. There are 3 in the picture, 2 CW FTR3s and one US FTR3 without air to naval factors.

Yes, I realised that, and that is why I edited the post. Although, the CW ones do have navalk air factors so I thought they would have been included. Apparently not. :)

All FTR fly as fighters. All CVP with same, or higher, fighter value than bomber value also fly as fighters. All CVP with 3 or more as fighters are also fighters.

Japan puts results on enemy fighters to begin with, and on our own bombers when we get to decide.

I am going to be away for a while now. Perhaps rest of the evening. I'll let you handle the Japanese decisions as you think is best for Japan. Lets get this naval action going. :)
