[WAD][1859] Patriots PH against BMs

Post by Knightpawn »

Query: Is it WAD for Patriots to end up with such low PH against DF-26? I
If I understand the log correctly there seems to be a downward adjustment to the PH from 95% to 1% because of weapon speed being over the Partiot design.

Is this supposed to be so?

That was a change in 1774 patch.
TWEAK: On anti-weapon engagements, if the target's speed is much higher than the weapon's max design target speed, PH drops to 1% (pure luck)

Again, certain missile systems are used against certain types of missiles for a reason. Not every poor shot is a bug. Sometimes devs actually try to align the game to reality.

WAD. PAC-3 was simply not designed for DF-26-class targets.

Perhaps then they should not be wasted?

I think thats why they don't auto fire.

In the last build they are autofired.

In the previous build none were, useful or useless interceptors.

Presumably this was the fix that did it

like this pic says

Patriots are not designed to take on IRBM

when intercept the MRBM like DF-21 (terminal speed Mach 10) in CMO, it can still achieve the 95% hit rate.

However, considering that ballistic missiles are all put under one catalog “Fireballs,” could there be a future doctrine or WRA setting that prevents Patriots from engaging IRBMs with terminal speeds of around Mach 15?

Both players and the AI have to rely on WRA for interception logic. We do not want to see large numbers of valuable interceptors wasted on targets that are effectively impossible to intercept.

The same issue can also appear in scenarios: once a Patriot launches at these IRBMs, the system may determine that the WRA engagement condition has already been satisfied, which then prevents THAAD from launching interceptors against the IRBM.
