Impulse #7 (Axis)
No surprise points available (Allies 7, Axis 5), so the net result is one CP destroyed.

Including the notional for you. Should give a minor benefit if Germany adds lots of air support.

Final odds.
Edit: I assume that assault is the only option for Antwerp.

Impulse #7 (Axis)
Air Rebase:
Japan:
NAV2 75,140 -> 74,139
Germany:
FTR2 -> SE Brussels
Italy:
FTR2 -> Antwerp
LND3 -> Dusseldorf
FTR2 -> La Spezia
Italy fly a reorganization mission to Amsterdam. CW can intercept that with 3 CVP. Axis had 3 FTR2, and 1 FTR3, available. I continue without intercept as that is my guess.

Re: Empires in Flames (4-player game)
Some consolation however it may have been better to leave Antwerp vacant but you still could have captured it with the para anyway and a counterattack would have been risky for the French and may not have got the para anyway.

For Orm, not critizing; but genuinely interested in your logic for taking the para as the loss vs inf?Majorball68 wrote: Thu May 14, 2026 11:19 pmSome consolation however it may have been better to leave Antwerp vacant but you still could have captured it with the para anyway and a counterattack would have been risky for the French and may not have got the para anyway.
For me; the threat/capabilities of the para in taking out France would out weigh the loss of the elite 9-4 inf corps.
For you it didn't; just curious on your logic?
But only if you aren't giving away military secrets to the other side.

My reasoning if I took the INF as loss:
- Antwerp with PARA + ART is 8 in defence strength.
- Leaving the ART E of Antwerp by itself is an invitation for CW to attack it from Rotterdam. And that puts Antwerp OOS almost regardless of attack roll.
- Advancing in with the ARM + ART into Antwerp is not possible due to...
- One of the units in Antwerp is disorganized and that unit may not be reorganized then
- Antwerp is OOS then.
- CW (+France) has air superiority over Antwerp and CW has plenty of bombers (4). Likely to disorganize more units.
- Thus, one unit must be east of Antwerp (only ARM available).
- France has close to 3,5:1 in an attack on Antwerp with 8 in defence (before support), CW can ground strike it for possible additional pluses, and winning the air combat versus France is not a sure thing. A +11 attack was not impossible. Maybe not that high in the end, but good enough odds to try.
- Losing Antwerp is a minor disaster and must be avoided.
- Also. After Allied impulse it is 20% risk of the turn ending, and the initiative is currently at 0, so Allies might gain a double impulse. Then the Allies will be in Brussels as well.
- Lastly. the INF is a pretty good attack unit that may be put to good use if an offensive is played.

Impulse #8 (Allies)
Land: CW, France, China
Combined: USSR, US
Turn summary:
Gort and MOT rail close to the Belgium border. CW DIV captures Mogadishu and advance towards Libya. Sudan TER advances towards Red Sea. French advance into Belgium. Chinese fighters rebase North. Chinese don't know what they are doing!
Naval Reorg:
TRS in North Sea reorgs the London Militia in Antwerp.
Turn contiunes on a 3 with winter weather 3 as well.
Over to Axis.
I don't remember the Chinese being this difficult to defend. Combination of turn length with snow and clear turns certainly makes it difficult. I'm use to getting stuck in China and not being able to move!
