Odd Capture

War in Spain 1936-39 is the first in a new wargame series, using a new Land-Sea-Air engine inspired by War in the Pacific - Admiral’s Edition. Gameplay and realism are improved by TRUE AI and a detailed Logistics systems. A hyper detailed OOB reaches down to battalion and company level. A beautiful, hand drawn, 5 nautical mile per hex map massively increases player immersion.

Odd Capture

Not sure if this is a BUG or not, but it's definitely odd.....and not something that will not happen often

In my PBEM game, I captured a ship on Air Transport; it had a unit of 1-15 Chatos on board (apparently this is the Chato unit that appears near Bilbao, but I had bombed all the airfields up there, so my opponent was trying to get it through the strait). Anyway, we captured the unit. Here is a screenshot; you can see it's a Nationalist Unit, all the planes are there, but no pilots:

However, I can't unload the unit at all; it's stuck on the ship. I even created a TF set to UNLOAD, no dice.

I'm not sure it's a big deal; I don't think there's a way to actually USE the Chatos if you're the Nationalists, and they did remain lost for him. But it's odd.

Is this WAD? Probably the unit should just be destroyed if the ship is captured

There is another issue connected to it... i was able to rebuild the squadron... it appeared in Odessa so i loaded in onto an AK... but i can't unload it anywhere...

This is undoubtedly related, because there are now TWO copies of the same unit, one on each side. And neither of us can unload it from a ship.

Capturing an air unit at sea was probably something the devs did not foresee, so understandable that the engine can't figure it out right now

The problem is not related, but has a similar cause.

The original unit got captured, but the ship's cargo used was set to zero in the capture process. This is a bug that makes the ship not unload as it has zero cargo.

The rebuilt unit has zero size, loaded onto ship it also has zero cargo space in use. It cannot unload due to the same reason, no cargo registered on board.
But in this case it is due to an oversight on my end as I did not anticipate empty air units to be shipped.

Both cases will work in the next exe and I can unload the air unit for you if you send me your saves during ( or at the end of ) your orders phase.
