Ignoring All Contacts on ASW Mission

Post by HailRider »

I am very new to CMO.

I am finding that on my ASW patrol mission, the helicopters abandon the mission path to investigate new contacts. Is there a way to prevent that?

I have already set the following.

MISSION:
OFF Investigate unknown contacts outside patrol area
OFF Investigate unknown contacts within weapon range

NONE Number of a/c that investigate unknown contacts
NONE Number of a/c that engage hostile contacts

EMCON:
NO Ignore plotted course

Thanks!

May you attach the scenario or save zipped?

I am using the included ASW tutorial.

Could this behaviour be due to scenario settings?

That's from 2024. Does that mean tis will not be addressed?

Any ideas of a workaround. For the tutorial it is a minor inconvenience, but for a large operation with multiple groups it could get onerous.

Thanks Swant, old bug indeed.

HailRider, I never noticed it while playing, because to investigate them is the best thing you can do.

You will learn the dangerous a hostile sub can be.

Better to destroy first and ask later :)

It means it's low priority. We occasionally still fix things reported in the Obama presidency :)
