Red/Green Area

Post by Correcaminos »

Can anyone tell me why, when one of my MPA aircraft flies over my submarines, the green ASW weapon release range ring starts turning red?"

Could it be a warning about overlapping mission areas with the risk of impacting a friend?

As far as I can tell, red range rings are indicative of anti-shipping weapon range and if your anti-submarine weapon is also usable against surface ships, the anti-surface range will pop out from behind the merged anti-submarine range.

Friendly fire is generally not possible in this game and is only really a concern when talking about blast radiuses/radii and neutral targets.

Sounds like you're out of ASW weapons and that's why the Red ring appears?

I think he's asking why the ring changes color and is half green and half red.

That's it, I haven't touched the weaponry yet; it's just that the ASW weapon rings of the different units change color as they overlap. It might just be the rings overlapping, that's all. It's the first time I've seen it; I hadn't noticed.

My bad, I thought it was when the ASW weapons where expended.

Is it a new scenario?

If not which one is it?

OK, now I see it.

I think this is due to the merging of the range rings. If you disable this option it does not happen.

When they are merged, a part is removed and is visible other of the range rings, that coincides in distance.

Edit: Eboreg explained it better :)
