Major shake-up in the command setup. Admiral Nimitz has relieved Admiral Kimmel as Commander Pacific Fleet, General Martin has been replaced by General Tinker at the head of the Hawaiian Army Air forces and General Short has been replaced by General Emmons as the boss of the Hawaiian Department.

Cagayan bombed by four Betties, very light damage.
Manila has been evacuated and declared an open city, the Japanese 16th Division has taken control.
Stalemate at Cagayan, a bombardment attack by the PI garrison has disabled a Japanese squad, 8 casualties reported.
Allmost all the small shipping left in the PI has been sunk, I am sending US submarines to Cebu to establish a supply line. Cebu is home to an import depot and has 17k supplies to share with the forces on Luzon and Mindanao.

Enemy forces at sea off Kuching have been attacked by Dutch bombers operating from the “secret” airbase Singkawang II. B-17Ds from Singers had more luck with a port strike, hitting xAK Johore Maru. Force Z minus the slow BB has been sent to pay respects. I would expect enemy covering forces, but naval search has seen nothing but a convoy unloading at Kuching. Such imprudence must not go unpunished. I hope it is not a trap.
Malaya / Burma / India
With the siege of Singapore about to begin, a large group of civilians has been ordered to evacuate the town. They have boarded the fast liner Dominion Monarch for a dash south to Batavia and then on to India.
China

Naval bombardment at Wuchang without effect.
A Japanese DA at Wenchow with now four divisions has gone not so well for the Japanese, the four Chinese held and casualties are 1729:1137. However, forts are down to 1 and the raw AV favors Japan 1550:800. I have decided to abandon both Wenchow and Dongyang and to consolidate both forces further inland. I may come back for some spoiling/nuisance attack when the four unrestricted divisions have gone elsewhere.
On its own initiative (I don’t remember having given the order), the guerilla-soldiers of the 7th Chin. Army (G) Corps have crossed the Yellow River to investigate Huoqiu. Bad idea, they have found the 15th Division, 31ID 138th Infantry Regiment, two tank regiments and some puppet forces and suffered heavy losses – 1762 casualties reported, the unit is down to half strength.
Apparently, my attacks and demonstrations in the Wuchang/Hankow are have had the desired effect, the enemy stack at Tongbai has retreated back to Sinyang.
At Haichow on the Yellow Sea, the 11th War Area is trying to evacuate the northern pocket and to consolidate at Hwaijin in the southern pocket. Multiple enemy forces are trying to block the movement, but I have no idea about their composition yet.
In the south, the 129ID 19th Ind.Mix' Brigade is leading an attack against Kanshien. Units of the 3rd War area had always been sent to that base weeks ago and it seems they will arrive just in time. Units from the 7th and 9th War areas have been sent to help after the intentions became clear with the attack on Xinfeng.
