He's probably referring to windows compatible Steel Panthers 2.

Armada 2026 Supernova.

I have loved this game for years. It is my favorite 4X game, and I turn to it from my more difficult games.

I love the research and production, I love the battles.

It is well worth a look.

I meant winspww2. Name is terrible but unlike spwaw they are still updating it. The game has tons of content after decades of updates. So many ASL scenarios you have them for almost any year. I often google the scenario details (balance etc) before playing it in winspww2.

I started playing steel panthers in the 90s and quit after first few megacampaing for spwaw. But after break of 20 years I realised I still have tons of scenarios and campaigns left to play. And there still isnt any new game that compares to steel panthers. I have currently been playing all four spwaw, winSPWW2, winSPMBT and also steel panters 3 since I never even tried that in the 90s. This is like the one last great playthrough on my backlog.

While I own most Matrix/Slitherine games I think one of my alltime favorites is Ultimate General: Civil War. Their latest title was not a success but last I heard its because the development was disturbed by a real war.

Cyberpunk 2077 plus the Phantom Liberty expansion. IMHO, it is a game greater of the sum of its parts. The combat system is interesting, the vehicle system is meh, you can have unbelievable tech but not a flashlight, and there are a lot of overlapping systems (like if different parts of the game were programmed by different teams without coordination).

The writing, however, is next level. Even the most lowly NPC - the ones were you buy things - has a history. Some plot lines are truly dark and what you do almost always has some kind of consequence (not always good).

On the wargaming side, FC: Cold War and Command.

↔ Title: Euro Truck Sim2

Big Brother to American Truck Simulator ETS2 contains an impressive map system of the European road grid. I decided to build my first garage in Barcelona, Spain which also has ferry routes to Southern France and Western Italy/islands. Now based in a garage, the player begins by hiring themselves out to drive for other companies. From there, the players can choose their routes/destinations. According to ATS, a one-man garage should earn about $20k per week. (gigs can pay from the hundreds to the thousands, depending on load) Strategically, you should purchase your own tractor asap (*quick fact* a tractor is called a 'truck' after the 'trailer' has been attached. ) which will allow you to roam the highways freely. Gameplay-wise, after you complete your second job, you are offered loan opportunities from the local bank. You can buy used vehicles, but a trip to the dealer is required if you want to buy brand new. This will allow you to expand by hiring new employees. Also, destinations like the dealership and employment agency are 'discovered' (therefore becoming accessible) as you naturally expand your world of exploration.

↔ Title: Taxi Life

A driving sim similar to ATS and ETS2 and is real-world based in barcelona, spain.

from their steam store page:

Transport your passengers across 286 miles (460 km) of roads in the game’s 1:1 scale reproduction of a large part of Barcelona
Unwind between two fares by exploring the city, discovering its hidden features and points of interest
Earn experience points by driving, exploring and interacting with your customers, and use them to unlock new skills, such as the ability to accept longer fares

Pick up customers and take them to their destination
Follow the rules of the road and avoid collisions with vehicles and pedestrians
Adapt your route based on random events (accidents, roadworks, parades, etc.)
Increase your braking distance when the road surface is wet to avoid collisions
Monitor your dashboard warning lights and refuel or recharge your vehicle, or have it serviced whenever necessary.

- fun! the streets in Barcelona are very narrow in a lot of places. both in this game and ETS2.

↔ UPDATE: ATS

Experimenting here first, i am slowly building my US highway map system. My first garage was in Redding, CA but too many newbie mistakes and I eventually closed shop and moved to Yuma, AZ which is near the border of Mexico and California. (Yuma has a lot more hills than expected) Interestingly, all of the produce (fruit and veg) jobs into California require a stop at the state-border for inspection. At another garage (with a brand new truck, er tractor, and a hefty loan payment schedule) in Lawton, OK near Ft. Sill - (this is where i grew up as a kid), I'm on my way from OKC to Enid to 'discover' a possible employment agency and new tractor dealership.

I took this photo in a nearby cargo terminal, Finland. Thing totals 40 wheels. Got stuck on that snow, and I had to drive around the terminal and leave from the entry gate.

Great pic! I haven't attempted the double trailer or reversing with trailer training modules yet.

coming up for ats is a new way to travel the highways... the ford mustang! my future brother in law (at the time) used to drive a similar model. The year was 1970 and i was eight y.o. I remember it mostly because he had the patton soundtrack in his eight track tape player.

Interesting!

I still play Warlords 2 Deluxe quite regularly. Does anybody know, if version 2.2.6(2) was the last one, or if there were even more recent ones?

RBM Studios Gettysburg, Waterloo, Saratoga and Rebel Fury. Board game conversions play against AI bought on steam. They are basic but can be as deep as chess

War in the Pacific - Admiral's Edition. I'm finally playing after years of firing it up and just looking at it, then shutting it down.
