A-10 Can Now Refuel Using Probe and Drogue Method

Post by DWReese »

According to several sources, the HC-130J Combat King II is now the aircraft that is primarily used to refuel the A-10 Warthog in flight. Additionally, the A-10 is also capable of tanking from other drogue-equipped C-130 variants, such as the MC-130J Commando II and KC-130J Super Hercules.

If this correct, I don't believe that this is reflected in the unit properties of the A-10 in the game as of yet. Perhaps it is already there, restricted to only a couple of units, and I just haven't located it as of yet. If not, it might be something to add to the list.

The probe is a new install that has first appeared during Epic Fury.

As you can see from.the screenshot it attaches over the boom port so when fixed the aircraft cannot use a boom. Not something in the db yet to my knowledge and would probably be entered as an "Epic Fury Mod" like some of the Desert Storm or Soviet Afghan War mod entries.
