LCU Editor Question

Post by Dereck »

I've seen this both ways in the editor for a broken down division. Which is correct or "proper"?

Division Near-000-None
- Bde #1 Near-961-Wagga Wagga
- Bde #2 Near-918-Canberra
- Bde #3 Near-918-Canberra

Division Near-942-Melbourne
- Bde #1 Near-942-Melbourne
- Bde #2 Near-1455-Portsea
- Bde #3 Near-954-Sale
PO2 US Navy (1980-1986);
USS Midway CV-41 (1981-1984)
Whidbey Island, WA (1984-1986)
Naval Reserve (1986-1992)

This is just the PARENT unit that has children:

Parent - Arrival Location -------- Arrival Date --------- Withdrawal Date
Parent - Arrival Location -------- No Arrival Date ----- Withdrawal Date
Parent - Arrival Location -------- No Arrival Date ----- No Withdrawal Date
Parent - No Arrival Location ---- Arrival Date --------- Withdrawal Date
Parent - No Arrival Location ---- No Arrival Date ----- Withdrawal Date
Parent - No Arrival Location ---- No Arrival Date ----- No Withdrawal Date

In going through the editor for a new scenario I have seen the Division/Regiment|Brigade
breakdowns in a variety of the ways above. I would think that the last one would be
more consistent for a Parent-Child relationship where the child units are the ones that
are actually on the map or set to arrive and not the entire division unit.

Use this form when the sub-units arrive at differing times/places. Particularly time, for example one of the children arrives 1 year in advance.

This one can be used when all the children arrive about the same time.

Honestly, I don't think there is any real difference between them, but that's how I see that the dev's did it in S001.
