Trouble starting PBEM - disregard (resolved)

Post by vettim89 »

We are trying to start a new PBM for Scenario 197 BMod December 7th start. My opponent is starting the turn (as Japan) and sending me the save. However when I try to load the save two things happen. First it prompts me for the player two PW (normal/WAD). But after I enter the PW the game goes to the save game screen and will not allow me out of the screen. If I send the save generated, the game prompts my opponent for player 2 PW.

We are both using the latest Beta.

Some probably-not-very-useful thoughts, but...

Asking for player2 PW and going to save screen sounds like historical first turn was selected. However, that wouldn't explain why it asks your opponent for player2 PW. But...

Have you tried loading the save you sent your opponent on your computer? If it asks for player2 PW, then I'm wasting your time. But if it asks for player1 PW, then maybe your opponent mis-saved or is opening the wrong file.

Not sure if you should disregard or ignore. Probably the former - you wouldn't want to be known as an ignoramus.
