A question for the experts

Post by jawi »

A question for the experts—e.g., Wiedrock:

It’s a multiplayer game played on the server (Kamils vs. Jawi).
Several units (tanks and infantry) are exhibiting the following behavior:
The attack value is halved during some attacks, but not during others (e.g., against an adjacent enemy unit).
For hasty attacks, the CV is halved.
For planned attacks, the CV is normal, even though it should actually be doubled.
All conditions are identical (e.g., air and ground weather, enemy entrenchment levels, etc.).

This is inexplicable to me so far—or am I overlooking something?

I’ve attached a few images to illustrate the situation.
Many thanks in advance.

Here is the combat display showing the standard values, without the halving effect.
(enemy adjacent unit)

As mentioned, this phenomenon occurs with several units.

1. you base attacking CV is 7.74 as seen jn the unit card.
2. if you do a hasty attack your CV will always get 50%. Pressing Shift makes it a deliberate attack with full CV.
3. the light forest hex you are attacking has no modifiers for you as an attacker while the swamp hex has Density (look for "double dense" in the manual). this increases your ID's CV by multiplying your infantry squad's CV (and somemother elements).

What icon mod is this?

Just to clarify, in item 3, double dense is a defence modifier?
Molotov : This we did not deserve.

Foch : This is not peace. This is a 20 year armistice.

Weather(+Road) is an attack modifer, Terrain and Fortification are defense modfiers, Density is applied to both - attacker and defender.
See here for an example.

@wiedrock
Many thanks. A short, clear answer—as always.
I’ve just consulted the manual again.
You never stop learning, especially with this game.

I think you should be on the development team. :)

@LordSAS
I use various graphics mods.
In case you mean the unit icons:
