Factory damage
Hi
I assume, that this question was asked several time and it is easy to find, unfortunatelly I can't find defnite answer.
Does capturing hext with Soviet armament factory destroys it or is it causing relocation with 100% damage?

Re: Factory damage
if the factory has no relocation scheduled then its destroyed otherwise it receives additional damage but I dont know if it always goes up to 100%
Re: Factory damage
Does it apply to both equpment factories and arament ones?
The more I learn about production system and evacuation the less I am motiated to play this game.
It really removes incentive to defend forward. I have to say I am disapointed.

Don't quote me on this but it sounds like you play as the Soviet's ? I think if a German player lands next to a certain factory type regardless if that factory is to relocated its destroyed outright, what can happen is that if you as a Soviet player you decide to relocate a factory or factories before the historical time it gets a severe penalty like extra damage or longer repair time, so you got to way up holding off and hoping the German player does not destroy said factory or moving it and having to wait those extra weeks for it to get back on line.
The factory relocation is part of the historical events that took place, I guess you may be able to create a campaign with altered factory relocation times possibly if you want to make a more of a knife edge situation to defend forward.
I cant speak from experience in P v P games as I play PVE but if your German opponent captures Leningrad in late 41 early 42 survives the winter then goes on to encircle Moscow its odds on that no amount of T - 34 factories behind the Urals will save you from a automated defeat if you have the sudden death scenario set, just my view but there are far better players here who might think otherwise.

Someone needs to convert this into a TLDR.

Re: Factory damage
As a German player, I'll probably pay more attention to the Russian manpower factories in the future.
With this endless influx of Soviet troops, the German player has their hands full.
It's a shame that the oil reserves and factories don't play a decisive role. That would be a good addition for future updates.

Re: Factory damage
Hi
What Strategies ! good question as I have no game experience playing The Soviets I can only give you my thoughts or view, well firstly you and @ Jawi are in a game already so both of you are far more experienced than I and probably telling stuff you already know but anyway here goes.
Playing the Soviets
Looking at @ Wiedrock's post on factory relocation you can see its a long wait for them to get back online if you relocate early its a tough choice but remember you need AP to move factories if you don't have the AP your not going to be able move them anyway, a forward defence maybe your only choice. It seems from @ Wiedrock tests that I was wrong as the Germans can overrun a factory city destroy the factories completely but they still relocate and rebuild ( well that sucks for Germany
@ Jawi is right ( post above ) manpower will be huge for the Soviets but if Germany get vast amounts of territory it could really knock them back, Germany cannot completely starve the Red Army of manpower to many cities that are beyond there range to reach but there are still a lot of big cities west of The Volga the Germans can capture, sure your factories will provide surplus weapons and tanks for units in the field but instead of getting 100 new divisions you may only get half if you don't have the men to fill the ranks ( my thinking I could be way wrong ).
Moscow
This city is the main intrinsic supply base in western Russia the only two others are in The Caucasus and there designed for the troops in that region, your next main supply base is Saratov, now over the years of frequenting this forum the consensus is a Moscow captured or just cut off spells doom for Russia due to supply issues ( someone can fact check me on that if they like ).
You have a couple of hard choices here, fight forward and lose more troops than normal but possibly getting factories safely relocated east ( your going to lose some its a given ) or fall back and lose a lot of factories that will take extra time to rebuild plus all those manpower points also.
Well that's my 2 cents on the factory situation as a Russian player
regards
Re: Factory damage
Totally agree nothing worse than a horde of Russian Cavalry Corps and Tank Corps charging your lines in late 42 early 43 when your advancing 200 miles south of Rostov, manpower might even be a bigger factor than the factories themselves, it might be frightening knowing theirs a 1000 T - 34's sitting in a car park somewhere its worse if those same Tanks are in 10 combat units with there support troops.jawi wrote: Fri Jul 17, 2026 6:08 pm As a German player, I'll probably pay more attention to the Russian manpower factories in the future.

Re: Factory damage
Cross post of my reply from Kamil's AAR as the same issue came up...
Not sure what the big issue is with the factory evacuations. The IRL Soviets managed to get pretty much everything out before the Axis reached the cities. But it wasn't like one day the industry was there and the next day it had left - it was a gradual process. So if the Axis player outperforms their real life counterpart then more industry will be lost than historical but at least some of the industry will already have been moved (plus the Soviets obviously had the capability to rebuild anything they lost given time). So the in game situation (capturing cities ahead of the evacuation date will cause a delay in the factories getting back online compared to historical) matches the real life situation.
In terms of the separate wider issue of the Soviet player not being under pressure to defend forward...
1) A human player is very unlikely to make the same mistakes as the historical STAVKA and keep huge numbers of forces forwards to be inevitably encircled. A rule system that basically handcuffs the Soviet player and forces them to suicide their troops is not going to be enjoyable to play.
2) In terms of the victory rules a Soviet player that just retreats and does not attack is only saving themselves from the 1941 auto-victory and potentially the 1942 one. But in the long term it is a losing strategy. If the Soviet player gives up too many bonus points by losing too many cities ahead of their historical capture date they will allow the Axis player to set a High Watermark that might not auto win the game in 1942 but will be impossible for the Soviet player to match by the end of 1944, resulting in an Axis victory.
3) In terms of the balance of forces, again a Soviet player that just retreats and does not fight will face longer terms consequences that outweigh the short term benefits. If they don't fight, the Axis forces will remain in good condition right up to the winter and so will be at no risk of collapsing if they do not retreat. In order to put them in that crisis situation the Soviet player needs to be defending aggressively enough to wear the Axis forces down before winter hits. Being able to put the Axis player under pressure in the winter is important not just from the perspective of causing damage to the Axis forces but also from the perspective of getting experience/morale and in particular Guards promotions.
