It's me again ... the Field "Marshall"
I wanted to take a minute to let you that I've been battling evil in another dimension for ~15 years! I apologize for this absence! BUT I'm back! We've been working on some much-needed changes for EIANW. We're trying to make thing much more friendly to the current Win 10/11 environment. We're also trying to make it more adaptable to today's multi-monitor / large screen environments and continue with some fixes / changes! It's been a while, but this game has been haunting me like a Raven tapping at my door!
What are we doing?
1. Win 10/11 Compatibility Changes/Updates
2. New desktop window mobility. We're allowing many of the info windows to be moved around and desktop configurations to be changed and saved. REALLY good for large/multi monitor setups!
3. Graphic Improvements (Smoother/cleaner).
4. Adding more fixes.
5. AI improvements. Bill still has some improvements he wants to make so I will be working with his guidance.
What are we looking at for the future?
1. Some type of online play vehicle.
2. Class EIA Edition
3. Perhaps a full port to the .NET world (MAYBE???).
I have built a pretty in-depth AI context on the Code Gear 2007 IDE environment and Empires in Arms, so AI knows that I'm working on a Napoleonic Era Wargame with a 20-year-old development environment and it has been a WONDERFUL tool! I will tell you that 50% of the changes you will see were authored by AI. It's been giving me ALL kinds of work around advice that has allowed us to make these improvements and keep this environment alive!
Anyway ... more to come later in this comprehensive 1.50.000 update!
I again want to thank Bill. I simply amazed and how much tougher/stable this game is because of Bill. When I first picked back up and started playing ... moment of honesty ... the AI kicked my A$$! It was a HUGE surprise!
Anyway, I still have a day job so I will not be able to look at/post on the forums every day, but I welcome your ideas and comments! I am happy to be back in the saddle and looking forward to keeping this thing alive!
