TOE Ranges

Post by Dereck »

What would happen if an Allied TOE was put in the Japanese TOE range or a Japanese in the Allied TOE range?

Took me a while to work out what you meant.

Your on about the location slots. Don't know is the answer but there is a clue that it leads to problems. From the editor manual

'Certain Locations must be left in their assigned slots as follows:'

Yes but what is mentioned are support squads and industry items. It doesn't specify TOEs.

Yes it does page 35 old manual
Certain Locations must be left in their assigned slots as follows:
Japanese HQ’s must be located in slots 1-98. (although additional Japanese HQ’s may be located in the normal Japanese unit ranges)
Allied HQ’s must be located in slots 100-215 (although additional Allied HQ’s may be located in the normal Allied unit ranges).
Bases must be located in slots 217-1999. Do not move any Base to a different slot as some parts of the game program assume these bases are in their current slots.
Japanese ground units must be located in slots 3005-4999.
Slots 2900-2999 are reserved.
Slots 3000-3004 must be left open as these are the slots used by Japanese North
Vietnamese militia units that are mobilized each time (up to a maximum of four) an Allied unit moves into a border hex inside North Vietnam (from China to Hue).
Allied ground units must be located in slots 5000-7999.
Japanese TO&E’s must be located in slots 2000-2349.
Allied TO&E’s must be located in slots 2350-2899.

Any TF’s may be located in slots 8000-8499 in the Task Forces view.
Slots 4,989 – 4,999 and 7,950 – 7,999 have specific invasion triggers associated with them and are not recommended to be used by modders.
These devices (primary HQ’s, bases) can be altered, but they should never be moved.
