Bought a new SSD, now...

Post by kanliot2 »

I bought a new SSD, and moved Distant Worlds 2 to the new SSD. I have full system backups. However, since moving the files using the steam settings/storage, all of the default automation has changed. Now for some reason I can't keep money in the bank, some weird apparent bug spends all my money as soon as i get it. I have no automated fleets, hardly any other automation but it's still draining my balance.

What did I do? Can you help me find the automation file? Is it readable by humans so I can compare line by line? I want to compare it to the backup I have. Is it .../data/GameSettings ?

Sincerely,
Kanliot

I also have an SSD, and have trouble keeping money in the bank. Not sure how one would impact the other though. Pretty sure the money is being spent on upgrades.

We would need a save to review what's going on. Automation settings are usually baked into a save when it's created.

Verify game files but do this: "Post by fruitgnome » Tue Oct 22, 2024 4:37 pm

It's so annoying that we have to setup again again our game settings and policy settings every new beta or update. Although I always delete before new start the delete* files under data."

Or uninstall game und reinstall game, make backups of all you want to keep. I think it is because of an update. If you want to end a savegame, reroll (downgrade) game if possible to legacy.
