Surviving Leaders - MC

Post by Wild Bill »

Colonels Collins (MC-W) and Dietsl(MC-NA), along with Captains Vebber (MC-LV) and Miller (MC-SE) follow a long arduous career in their fights through the Mega Campaigns.

I'm curious.

How many of you were able to take your leader through the entire campaign and survive the ordeal?

Was your commander wounded, killed or taken prisoner?

How many awards were bestowed upon him?

I'm quite sure that not many survived, but it would be interesting to hear from you on this.

Anybody make it?

Hi, I never had much luck keeping leaders alive. In Watchtower they died every 2nd or 3rd battle. Even when I went to great lengths to keep them safe they would get killed.

In SE, Miller got through Normandy, then in Dec 1944 AO was wiped out.

How do you find an awards summary? Miller received awards and awards for valor, but I did not find detail or a summary.

There really is no summary as such, Ol Dog. That is a good idea. I wish it had been included. A nice review page of battles fought, won and lost, casualties and awards would have been a great addition. Hopefully in CL we will see that feature.

One likes to review his stats and see what he did or did not do.

I've never had one survive yet either, but I'm close in MC-SE. I just might make it!

I had one Bill, Colonel Dietsl made it through my Desert Campaign! He did get wounded though when his KubelWagon was blown all to hell by a low flying British Spitfire (Englisheir Swine ![;)]), about half way through the campaign!

BTW, Did you guys ever notice how your leaders draw air strikes like flies to honey! I don't care where you put them or what AFV or APC you try to hide them in, they always find 'em![:(]

I really was gripping when the odd time, especially towards the end of the campaign, that the Field Marshal himself would show up on the battlefield. I always was scared Shi*less that I was going to get him killed![X(]

COmbat Leader, Lexxan! It will be what we have always wanted, a Steel Panther IV so to speak.

John David! You can imagine how the guys felt when Patton when roaring through the front lines or historically when Rommel landed his Storch next to an 88 gun crew to find out why the gun was not firing, or when he turned a German tank crew around with his pistol and sent them back into action! But that is another story.

Sorry Bill, I was on another planet! It passed so much time since it has been announced as game-under-development that I forgot it. It looks great! Still I would like a much better (up-to-dated at least) graphics even if , for a wargamer, is not critical as the gameplaying and the AI. Ciao! Lexxan

Vebber survived...got all decorations except the Crimean badge as I took the other route. Actually he got most awards several times [:D] Towards the end of the MC almost all battles ended with 'You've received an Award' Guess he was able to use all those Iron Crosses as additional armour.
