Re: Workshop for the new guys - Directive 21 (D21)
This is just before the fourth combat round. Notice the disappearance of a lot of Soviet units.

Re: Workshop for the new guys - Directive 21 (D21)
This is just before the fifth and final combat round. I have only three attacks this turn and I don't expect much to change. You see where I have yellow circled my Panzer unit attacking a fresh Soviet Division. I have run some brown water boats up to the southwest side of the target to lend whatever support it might. I've set it to a 'T' and maximum losses but I doubt it will do much to help. There are lots of Soviet remnants but I'm pretty sure they won't get very far in their turn. You can see from the air losses meter that I've alledgedly destroyed 5727 Soviets and lost only 19 from my force. I'll take that.

This is T2 in the middle and shows the configuration of the units of both sides. I've surrounded what I could. I expect most of these Soviet units to disappear. This is just round 1 and I have some MP's left so maybe those surrounded now will be disapperared and I might be able to surround more Soviet units in the second combat round and make them disappear also.

This is northern end of my front lines just before the next combat phase. I'm still hoping that most of these guys will go away. I need to get to Riga as soon as I can. The sooner I get across the river the faster my dudes can go.

This is what it looks like in the South right now. This is just before my last combat round. I didn't get to surround very many Soviet units but I'll try harder next turn.

This is what it looks like after my last combat phase. I don't have any more MP's left so this is the configuration at the end of T2.

Re: Workshop for the new guys - Directive 21 (D21)
This is the start of T3 and I'm moving AG Center ( AGC ) to Bialystok to take advantage of the cluster of three airfields within range to allow one HQ unit to be adjacent to all three at once. I plan to park all my tired aircraft at these three airfields. If they will all fit. If not I'll park them somewhere close. I consider an aircraft tired if it's 50% or below in supply. I like to keep my weapons green.
Also, notice that my brown water boats are clearing all the waterways it can to allow the freeflow of supplies and sortof cleanup the map of those ugly lines when you leave the waterways uncleared.

Re: Workshop for the new guys - Directive 21 (D21)
This is the start of the first combat phase of T3 and I've supplied some zoomed in views of particular battles so you could get a better feel of what's going on. I don't think you guys want a unit by unit style of AAR but rather a sort of commentary on what's going on but I can include more detail if you'd like. Maybe a formation by formation style of AAR, or is that too much detail?
I'm on the verge of grabbing Riga and two separate places on the western riverbank of two crossings and I've found Daugapils occupied by a small Soviet unit but it's bigger than I would care to assign it as a target for my Recon unit. Yeah, it's that big.

This is just before the first combat phase of T3. Oops, it looks like I've posted the same information twice. Lucky you.

Re: Workshop for the new guys - Directive 21 (D21)
I managed to get three of my RR engineers almost all the way to Riga already. The German rail damage is now 50% so I gotta start repairing rail here and there. And here's what the supply levels look like near Riga.
EDIT: okay, I messed up the movie. I'll try better in the future. I'm operating on 2 hours sleep in the last sixteen.

Re: Workshop for the new guys - Directive 21 (D21)
This is where my units end up at the end of T3. I've finally had the follow on forces catch up with the pioneers at the pointy end of the spear. Down south I believe I've made it through the Soviet's first front line and now I'm moving as quick as I can to confront the second front line as they are wont to do. Meanwhile I want to bend my lines so that they are more north/south in character so that all my guys can advance to the east in a line all at the same time. It might look better on one of these images.

Re: Workshop for the new guys - Directive 21 (D21)
This T4 just before the first combat phase. I've managed to bridge the river below Riga at several spots, accelerating my advance. I've used up most of my MP's in most of the units so this is where most of my units will end up.
I'm adjacent to Minsk already and almost 1/2 way through the marshy area in the middle so there shouldn't be any adverse terrain after that. I've found where the second Soviet front line is down south and the Romanians have awakened out of their HOLD mode and are confronting the Soviet at the crossing points on the Prut River in Besarabia.

This T4 just before the second combat phase. Yeah, I know, I cropped the image wrong. I'll try better next time.

Re: Workshop for the new guys - Directive 21 (D21)
I'm keeping an eye on this scenario, so I appreciate all the work you've put into it. Since you've played through it quite a few times, I wanted to ask: Have you ever seen how the Soviet PO plays in '44 and '45? Is it capable of conducting Bagration-style coordinated offensives, or does it just attack non-stop without a grand plan?
Also, which counter mod are you using? They look nice.
Thanks in advance!
