World at War 1939-1945

Post by macgregor »

This scenario is stock with toaw4. We need a player for Germany in order to start.

2 games are played. 4 players in the ETO and 2 in the PTO. Units transiting between theaters need only to be moved in both games.

I want to start a 2nd game, same scenario, 1v1 covering the Pacific Asia theater only. I'd like to play as China/USA against a Japan player. So you see, even though the game may be started. The USSR/Allies role, Japan, and Germany are still open and need players.

Having 2 games simplifies the difficult task of circulating the turn among allies in .sal. Inter-game moving of units can be easily accomplished by moving the units on both maps at once.Image

Sorry but I am not really sure what the ask is. If I sign up does that mean I play just as Japan in one game or am I signing up for two games? And do you need a German player or a Japanese one? or both?
Sorry, I admit I am easily confused sometimes.
If it's only one game as Japan I could do it if you want.

As a quick side note, I played that scenario before somewhat and it wasn't very good with naval resolution. Battle of Midways (as in lopsided combat resolutions) were happening all the time until there weren't any ships left.
If that happens again the game can get bogged down in dumbness.

You would play in one game only. The idea was to reduce the amount of players having to circulate a game file. The Pacific theater was just 1 v 1. Unfortunately, I did not have players that could be expected to move, even within a week. A game this size requires more dedication than that. I mean, 15m to move. If you cant' manage to do that once a week, it's not going to work.

Our Japan player has dropped out. Anyone interested in picking it up, let me know. I'll send you the save. We're not even in December of 1939 yet.

Hopefully someone besides myself sees the need for a Grand Strategy version of toaw4.
Capable of MP of more than 2 players. The extent of Economic/Production control is optional.

But certainly strategic warfare: Bombing/Submarine warfare. Submarine warfare should be added. The modders who made WaW 1939-1945 have done their job.

Total Victory will be released, and probably outsell toaw4. Which is a shame because the combat will not be as detailed.

Someone will make this game eventually. Perhaps not in my lifetime.

You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life
