I found the AVG squadron at Chungking and it's an exceptional squadron with a proficiency of 81%. That's pretty good compared with the ordinary squadron ( usually 75% ). I'm using them to fly CAP for all the Chinese units within it's range. They aren't missing any planes since I just now moved it from Calcutta to here.

What's at Manila you ask. Glad you brought that up. I've got a magnificent P-40 squadron there ( proficiency 81% ), a PBY squadron ( in reorg ) and an engineer unit set at ignore losses. Plus there's an Allied HQ unit in an adjacent hex. Plus I have some RR arty nearby ready to rail to the nearest hotspot. Some destroyers in the harbor and Fort Drum with it's CD guns. I think I'm almost ready for the Japs to do their worst.

I've just discovered that I have lots of planes near Pearl that are in reorg, probably because of the latest Jap air strikes. I guess. I've found a squadron of P-40's that have an overabundance of aircraft. So they probably won't get any replacements for a game turn 2 months or so. It's proficiency is below standard so it needs to rest, in addition to restore itself from reorg. I don't believe the proficiency increases while it's in reorg. But this squadron is scheduled to receive some P-38's in turn 48 or so. I don't know what date that is but it's a while yet.

I found a B-17 group that is so far below the standard for proficiency that I've put it on INT training because it's scheduled for flying every turn but won't actually INT any enemy units within range because there aren't any. I count that as training.

Ordinarily partisan units don't convert the hex they occupy unless they end their turn in a hex, but I've found that after I move the partisan unit and then go to the next unit and then go back to the partisan unit it converts the hex. And I've just done that to a section of a Japanese road just now.

I moved the 3rd NZ Inf Brigade to Henderson Field at Guadalcanal from somewhere in NZ just to claim the hex before any Japs get antsy. I know it says Division but I'm looking at the single X for unit size and I think it's not quite a Division, more a Brigade size. I'm parking a Subchaser at Tulagi just to park something there. Any attacking Jap land unit can move it out of the hex but just having something there might intimidate Willie for a second. It could happen.

I started moving ships and I found the CV's Yorktown and Lexington down near the south edge of the map and in addition, BB Colorado says it's in reserve and doesn't activate until turn 3 but I found it active and ready to go. I don't know what happened to cause it to be active, but it is.
