Settings bug

Post by Xmelnitsky »

Currently I play game through the server and I noticed some strange thing, I set morale for axis minors (except Finland) to +10, but somehow it shows me that we have +5 morale, including Finland. First screen from main menu, but the settings were exactly the same as in the lobby, unfortunately I didn't take a screenshot of the lobby as soon as I created.
It isn't my turn now, so I couldn't take a look and see is it just display bug or not.

Sorry to hear about your issue. I downloaded your game's last two saves and they both show the 5 morale help levels. I assume this is not a display issue, but actually how this game is operating. The question is did it change during the play of your game, or if it was set up this way (or changed somehow on the initial load)? This is now the 2nd case over the past 2 months of options changing (the other case was help levels changing). Since it's now happened twice, the odds that there is a problem somewhere have gone up. What version are you and your opponent playing with? We don't have any idea how these values could change once in the game. If they were showing one way when the game was loaded on turn 1, and then changed later, it could be a symptom of something else going wrong, but again, we have no ideas at this time.

For now, I suggest that players check out the values when they first start turn 1 to make sure they got started with the correct values. After that, probably worth a check each turn (we can revert a server game one turn if a change is noticed). The programmer is about to go on vacation for two weeks, but when he returns he may be able to put in some additional error checking in case this happens again.

Thank you for your answer. I guess I noticed this issue too late and don't know exactly moment when morale changes. In turn 1 settings were correct, seems that they changed later, maybe when I pass the turn to my opponent? Or could it happen because I saved several times during my turn?
My version is 1.04.16, I play through Steam. I'll ask my opponent about his version.

So I started new game and morale has changed after first save. Is it possible to return this to the way it was?

Can you fill in the exact steps that each player took from setting up the game to getting to where you can see the numbers have changed. Something like this:

1. you created a game that you set up with the settings at 10
2. your opponent accepted the challenge and saved
3. you went to load in turn 1 of the game as German and once in the game you see that the game options shows the numbers at 5 instead of 10

I need to know the exact steps in order to recreate it with the programmer when he returns from vacation next week. Thanks.

Well, I created the game and set up morale mod exactly like in the screenshot, then my opponent accepted the challange, after that I loaded the save, and setting were right, but I've noticed that the morale of the Romanian troops is set to 50, as if the morale mod is set to +5 like this:

For example I started single player campaign, and it shows morale correctly:

After that I start to plan my air phase, set up directives, then I saved the game, loaded it, and now it shows me +5 morale for all axis minors.

Can you ask your opponent what settings he saw when he accepted the challenge, and also, what his main menu settings were set to when he loaded the game and went to accept the challenge? Can you also set up a game with your settings as you did, and then let me know so I can accept your challenge and see if I can get the settings to change. Thanks. We need to see if we can duplicate this so we can pin down how/why the settings are changing. Thanks.
